Magic 0
My first choice for a second single would have to be MANiCURE. Why? Well, apart from the support by Adele, MANiCURE is exactly the sound the general public has been craving to hear. Its sound resembles the essence of THE FAME, yet seems to push her into new territory. This could be a chance to win over a lot of her female demographic and be a role model. What is so unique about this song is that while it has this great empowerment meaning, it's still a song you wanna play in the car and party to during spring break. The song may be girly and unrelatable to me, but to millions of girls and women it would. It's exactly the single she needs to garner back some radio hype, and show the world that she isn't always so serious. My second choice, based off of our options would be Sex Dreams. Why? Because pop culture is horny at the moment. Take Miley, Thicke, and Rihanna for example. They have had mass amounts of success with showcasing s-xually explicit songs. Sex Dreams is relatable is the sense that we all have desires and a thirst to be naughty. It's also experimental enough to be considered a blend of art and pop. Another thing to consider is that Gaga could snatch her erotica moment with this song. The only negative side to this is that again people will claim her of taking things way to serious and releasing something again all about her needs. MANiCURE showcases the need for other women to feel better about themselves. Excellent post!! I see where you're coming from with MANiCURE and I think that it's catchiness will appeal across the board despite the fact it's "girly". When Gaga came out she was the huge thing and quite a wide-spread of people were loving PokerFace and LoveGame despite the implications of their lyrical content, for example "bluffin with my muffin" wasn't exactly "relatable" to men BUT it was funny. Definitely MANiCURE has a more girly appeal but the play on words in the title is quite humorous, and it's overall sound is very appealing. And, as someone mentioned above, Single Ladies was a huge song and everyone was singing it despite the lyrics being geared towards females, so I think the sound of the song and it's humour is important. Not that millions of straight men will buy it anyway, but like you said it's a song you wanna play in the car and party to, so it's not a turn-off in that sense. I also agree that it's a great female empowerment anthem and this will only do it good :) Am I the only one who gets a Blondie vibe from MANiCURE? emiher 2
Applause and Sex Dreams are both very infectious songs So there HAD to be some reason why Applause was chosen over Sex Dreams instead... I mean, I'm just sayin...
DanceInTheFlames 154
Some of you are thinking way too much about the next singles commercial success. Pick the song YOU want to hear/see a video for, not what you think the cereal public would enjoy the most.

kaojen 1,571
I'm afraid Sex Dreams will flop because it's my favorite... Marry the Night was my favorite from Born This Way and look how that did Either way, I don't really care if it flops or not, because I'll still get a video, and MTN video was awesome

To market the artist, a radio friendly, addictive, catchy song is needed. So picking one that you happen to be a fan of, is just a bad idea when it comes to ARTPOP. You have to think of what will be best for gaga's career/era. That is the whole point of a single... Seems kinda selfish to pick a song that only you want to see a video a for, just because you happen to like the song

She didn't say vote for the song that would chart the best. I'm not denying some will be more commercial than others or that some probably shouldn't be singles. I'm only stating that don't vote for a song JUST because you think it will be commercially successful. VasilisVas 5,013
can someone please take the time to explain to me what happened with Gaga and Adele? I heard Adele was at the show and saw Gaga and spoke to her backstage. I think I read somewhere in the forum about Adele wanting Sex Dreams to the next single or something? I'm not looking through a million topics and a million pages to find out what's going on. Thanks.
