Born This Way/ARTPOP - everything and nothing all at once What happened to Venus? To Pierrot? To the Shell Girl wig, the visor, the Koons ball & Marina projects (art references), BowieGa? Gaga says she likes wearing the same things over and over to burn the imagery into people's heads. ICONOGRAPHY: The Fame - Disco Stick, Hair Bow, Fame Glasses, Blond Bangs, The Fame Monster - Yellow Hair, Monster Claw Born This Way/ARTPOP - everything and nothing all at once The ARTPOP era has just begun! I remember thinking that the BTW era was a mess, but after it wrapped up, I remember distinct images. Now that I think about it, both The Fame Monster and the Born This Way eras were filled with rather dark imagery. That type of imagery has a tendency to stick in one's mind. The black and white images, protrusions on the face, the women's prison in "Telephone," religious imagery galore, heavier lyrics in general, biker gangs, life-like mermaids, THE ENTIRE "BAD ROMANCE" video, slime, aggressive s-xuality, and an overall more mature and darker tone in the clothing as well. So far, the ARTPOP era seems to have taken on a more vibrant and colorful agenda. Gaga appears to be in a happier place and the "Applause" performances reflect on those 'darker' eras with a light-hearted tone.. I think some of the fans are just missing that bold imagery that she used to hit us with. It's something that most of us may not be used to when it comes to the Gaga Evolution. Have you watched iTunes yet? ;) I'll take any comment from you with grain of salt then since you're clearly on a path for revenge It's sad that this forum has come to a state that you can't even discern between a mere comment and a meltdown. I'll take it that your speaking in hyperbole for your own sake Today I was in my film tutorial and we watched Machete Kills trailer and someone was like OMG it's lady Gaga because of the hair. FYI I'm loving ARTPOP way better than BTW. I loved the direction with the series of promo images but it has strayed from that. There's still a lot more to look forward to, but I've been saying this since BTW that her BRANDING is weakened when she doesn't stick to a theme. Gaga herself said she likes to burn the imagery into people's heads and if you look back at her career, it started to go down when she stopped this.
