Yes, DWUW has fallen all the way to #25 on airplay. So that considered, along with the lack of video, it is holding up really well. That's an indicator of how the public are ready to embrace it but I fear the video is too late now.

Ellie tweeted yesterday that her album made 2x Plat UK (600k).

Kind of a hopeful case study for us. Ellie was coming off a debut that sold over 800k (like BTW), but had little momentum last fall and a mediocre lead single. I think she was where Gaga is in UK this time last year.

Then her song with Calvin and #1 from re-release got her momentum all 2013.

How is the eventual chart looking? Is Sam getting that #1? Even if she does, it's going to be so close. It's unusual for a song that wasn't part of an anti-XF campaign to be above the winners single for the last two days.

Yeah, and that was with a re-release. If she hadn't re-released it with a very public friendly single and a charity single to follow it up, she would have barely scraped platinum status (before the re-release, Halcyon had barely sold 300k). We'll just have to hope that DWUW has a controversial video, Gypsy's the next single, she performs at the BRITs and that ARTPOP Act II is a lot more of what the public want. With these elements in place, Gaga could get right back on track again.
