StrawberryBlond 14,294
As I've already said - this is not just about IDC, you dislike Cheryl a lot I agree with some things you said like the first point here : 1. Is X Factor responsible for Cheryl's career - YES. 2. Can she get a #1 without being on X Factor? YES . Call My Name was a big hit without her being a judge or perfoming. 3. Was Cheryl fired from X Factor? NO. She left Simon begged her to come back. Isn't it ironic how you quoted just the part where I complained about your replies, ignoring the other 90% of my post, while saying how you haven't done the same thing the previous time I don't have time to post some things for the THIRD time, so let's just say you hate both Cheryl & the chart system, while I am saying it's nothing unsual compared to other similiar acts. IDC is shaping up to be her biggest 2nd single And yeah her album is flopping, she is turning out to be a singles artist. Funny how we started this conversation with I Don't Care and now we are mentioning her album sales, tour, X factor etc. Again, it simply confirms what I've already said : Just a short reply as I don't want to argue anymore. Yes, I clearly do dislike Cheryl a lot. I've never tried to hide that. And I was referring to her getting fired from XF US. If it happened once, it can happen again, and in the time when she wasn't on tv, apart from CMN, she was practically obscure and a lot of people deemed her career to be over. So, basically, her entire solo career rested on a tv show. For that, I will never consider her truly a star. I didn't ignore anything you said, I just didn't see a point in replying to it all as I already knew everything you were telling me about. I only bring up parts of a post that I can give a proper response to. Yeah, let's just agree to disagree. But just so you know, the phrase "haters gonna hate" has no effect on me. Wednesday Midweek 1 Pink Floyd - The Endless River (92.2k) * 2 Foo Fighters - Sonic Highways (58.2k) * 3 Sam Smith - In The Lonely Hour (20.2k) 4 Ed Sheeran - x (18.8k) 5 Queen - Queen Forever (17.2k) * 6 Cheryl - Only Human (about 14k) * Wow, Pink Floyd are doing so amazingly well. I didn't realise this was officially their last album, so that probably explains it. I just found out the album broke the record for the most pre-orders ever on Amazon UK, beating out 1D's Midnight Memories and Robbie's Swings Both Ways. Out of all the acts that hit the 100k mark this year, this was the only one I didn't expect. Just goes to show that you don't need a #1 hit, massive streaming points and millions of Vevo views to sell an album. It's more about how loyal the fans are than anything else. Never underestimate the loyalty of the older generation who focus on just one or two favourite acts to support, as opposed to the fickle younger generation, whose loyalties are many and can be subject to change very easily. craig 680
1. Is X Factor responsible for Cheryl's career - YES. I'd say the success of Girls Aloud is more responsible. They were on a real critical and commercial hot streak in 2008, and it wasn't just random that Cheryl was selected instead of Nicola or Sarah. She was a fan fave. X Factor gave her a bounce in sales (at least at first), but she was in a good place already. Just like Geri Halliwell's first solo album. Regarding her X Factor US firing, I think she was vindicated when the show flopped and America ended up hating Nicole ***cat Doll. Billboard published an article rating all US singing show judges in history, which actually placed Cheryl over Nicole. PS: Have y'all seen this brilliant parody about why she was fired: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e6DwN5n9iEE
