Freddy 4,421
As for the third single.... I doubt radios will be that thrilled to add a new single from an album that isnt even in the top 100...
Jase 13,068
Yeah, a third single would go top 40, if that

Sadly, Gaga is building a history of ending eras after the first little bit of adversity.
StrawberryBlond 14,268
hmm i disagree. first of all, she wants to move was ALWAYS on music channels and everyone knows that beat. lapdance was quite big too wasn't it? where i'm from, people definitely cared about pharrell before now and they've been waiting for him to make a comeback. his older songs don't necessarily have the best chart positions, but where i'm from, people KNOW and still love songs such as: frontin with jay z, can i have it like that with gwen stefani, number one with kanye west which peaked at #31 but i know people still remember/listen to it, beautiful with snoop dogg seemed huge at the time but it only peaked at #23. i could name many more. excuse me miss with jay z is quite a classic, drop it like it's hot with snoop dogg was quite big, i'm a slave 4 u, senorita, rock your body, like i love you, MILKSHAKE, etc. people KNOW he produced these songs, where i'm from, at least. i wouldn't exactly say he was in high demand, but i know people who still cared and missed his sound being big on the radio/music channels. i'd say the same about an act like outkast. huge in london, wanted in london, perhaps not so much in a rural area. i wouldn't be surprised if under 15s in the UK hadn't heard of outkast. same goes for r kelly. i was surprised when the poster 'craig' said in the US chart thread that r kelly was never big in the UK and no one cares about him here. as far as i'm concerned, he was, and some of my friends were surprised and intrigued to hear his feature on a lady gaga song. is 'craig' even from the UK? lol. you can't say these things by just looking at chart positions. Yes, She Wants To Move went to #5, but (can't believe I'm saying this now) but at the time, this was likely due to Alesha Dixon's publicised appearance in the music video and in 2004 she was a much bigger celebrity. The song was not a hit worldwide and didn't even get onto the Billboard 100. Lapdance only went to #20. I don't really know how much of an impact that song's made here, to be honest. But I do know it is well known in the US (I've heard the reference to the line: "you can get this lapdance here for free" in a song or two by American artists and its featured on the soundtrack of some US films - yet, again, it didn't chart on the Billboard 100). Those were their only two hits here. Maybe you just associate yourself with people who know a lot about music because where I'm from, people don't know or care who produced, it's all about the singer. Can I Have It Like That is the only song I remember from his solo album but I don't think anyone else I know can, even though it was the only solo hit he ever had until Happy. I was at high school in 2001-2007, so I was there right through urban music's peak years and it was the only cool thing to listen to and not one of the cool kids (or the uncool ones for that matter) listed Pharrell or NERD as their favourites. If you wanted to be cool, you liked Beyonce, Xtina (at the school talent show, it was just girl group after girl group dancing to Dirrty), Eminem, Nelly and some one hit wonder dance artists. Anything outwith that would usually be met with a blank expression. No one was talking about the songwriters or producers, just the artist who sang on it. As for artists like R Kelly, he had two huge singles here (I Believe I Can Fly and Ignition) and two huge albums (R. and Chocolate Factory) but failed pretty bad outwith this. Those are the only two songs of his I could name prior to researching him recently and I lived through his peak eras. I Believe I Can Fly was everywhere, though I was clueless at that age as to who sang it and Ignition was the hottest song around at my school. My friend was mad about that song but she never bought the album and completely forgot about him after that. And that was pretty much the reaction of the whole UK. Jumped on the bandwagon for 2 singles, dropped him after. Yes, chart positions can be misleading, but sales aren't. His last five albums sold less than 100,000 copies respectively and three of them didn't even crack the top 100.

StrawberryBlond 14,268
Hopefully, ARTPOP will be given a huge discount on iTunes now, preferably to £4.99. Albums suddenly skyrocket when they get an offer like that. Whenever an album is almost of the top 100, the next week, they suddenly rise by about 20 places and I think it's because their label have noticed they're about to drop out and want to get as many weeks as possible in the chart, so they put it up for discount for a month. I really don't want her to fall out just yet. When you consider BTW hung around for a straight year... Remember when Rihanna's TTT was reduced to a fiver and it shot back to #1, even though it was nearly a year old and set the record for the lowest selling album at the #1 spot in chart history? Now, that's some promotion we could do with!
