Meh not sure if that was worth the read. I wish it was more straightforward. Less blah blah more music news. We didn't really learn anything new from this. Besides that she'll lay on her bed writing Applause in the music video?

Gaga's interviews and her preaching are horrible. The questions in this one were uninteresting and she kept repeating the same things.

Call me when you can answer questions directly instead of acting like Jesus Christ.

it sounds to me like you're clinging to a version of gaga that you thought existed years ago. She has always spoken with an air of pretense and authority and 'preaching' about art, ever since The Fame days. If you cant accept her in this way... why are you still a fan?

I love judas SO MUCH but I canʹt look like a copycat of JLO!!!!

Great interview! It's really interesting reading about how she creates and lives. I found it cute the way Marina/Gaga bounce off one another. They're both crazy b---hes, but both the best at what they do.

Next time someone criticises me about not eating breakfast in the mornings.. I'mma tell 'em Gaga doesn't and look at her.  :worship:

Lady Gaga: Exactly, I had the right vibrational experience with the words and the way they sounded when I said them, with the way the work was coming out. Then I started to repeat them like a mantra, which I find so interesting, because I know that when we do this workshop I’m sure I’m going to be so focused on the things that you are saying, almost like a mantra. It’s the same way I experience my creativity, as a vibration. When I was working I was thinking, What does ARTPOP mean? And then I started with the basic sense of it. Well, it could belong together. I thought about Pop Art and how the dominant subject matter was always the celebrity or the pop-culture icon on the canvas, and then I thought to myself, But what I have tried endlessly to become through my work is a celebration of my differences through art, with myself as the canvas, as opposed to me as the subject matter, being put on the canvas. I don’t want to be an icon in just one form. I want to be an icon in many forms. So that’s where it began.

I don't know what she is trying to interpret with her makeup, but her face really looks like an artists pallete with all those colors she has had recently.

Maybe because I still like her music? And maybe because I've read great in-depth interviews with various artists?

yeah, maybe it's because I'm not some intelligent art student, but the interview seemed to go nowhere at times. and what she said about btw shocked me. she went on and on about how important it was to her and the fans since like 2010, and now she says that she was running away from her past? how am I supposed to take that?

IKR? thats the only thing really rubbed me the wrong way i don't get it at all  was she putting it all on...btw really made me a huge fan

I wish she had explained that part a little better, because I don't think she meant that BTW wasn't important to her, or that she didn't believe in what she was preaching, but I was kind of irked at first too.

What she said actually reminds me a lot about the MTN video, and certain parts of the Y&I video, and how she talked about them in interviews. What confuses me is that she said the whole era was her not wanting to go back. It makes perfect sense to me if you just leave everything else off and think of those two videos though. Maybe I'm just not seeing the references in the rest of the era.

I don't think we've grasped the full idea of what she meant by that, and imo she just didn't word it in a way that got her point across very well, but I believe that BTW was a genuine era and she really believed in the message and everything.

I love it but I don't really get her. This interview was great but I don't understand a huge portion of it. She sounds a bit crazy tbh and get why so many people are turned off by her. In pop music, people don't care about all this artistry. I won't say I want her to be a normal pop star because that's not why I fell in love with her, but neither will I say: "oh, wow, I totally get her, you fans who don't understand her are idiots." I will enjoy the music she creates, the performances, the videos, her vocal skills but I give up on trying to understand her process. I can't relate to it at all. But that's ok, it gives her a certain mystique aura.

So true

I hate how fans want her to quit smoking. SHE ISN'T AN IDIOT, SHE KNOWS IT HURTS HER HEALTH. Just ****ing let her do her thing.

There's nothing wrong with being concerned about her health. It's one thing to constantly bug her about it like those posts on lm.com, but it's another to simply be upset. She can do whatever she wants, but that doesn't mean we shouldn't be allowed to care. I for one would be very relieved if I found out she quit smoking (cigarettes, not weed) for good, but I'm not going to try to force her into it, and neither was the person you quoted. I understand where you're coming from, I just don't think it should have been directed where it was.

What an interesting interview, it really made me THINK a lot on many things (about art, intelectualism, elite v/s discipline, embracing our own history, definitions of 'good artist', pop culture as a medium for art, etc). This is my favourite interview! My brain was happy reading it. Amazing women.

That's why I adore Gaga so much because she pushes us to think and learn instead of delivering some throwaway work, it always has more behind it. :)

I like how Marina really treats Gaga as her own daughter, I mean reminding her to eat breakfest and three meals a day is quite cute and motherly towards Gaga

hey I'm Doggo :derpga:
