It's more likely a request will be ignored on the big stations due to an influx of requests while the smaller stations are more likely to take a request. It'd still be the only new Gaga song you could actually download so I don't think it'd kill it off. Applause could then survive a little longer, and the second single would be given the chance to a good debut. Then, when Applause begins to slow down and falls out of like the Top 15 of the Hot 100 - Gaga could announce on the Thursday that it'll come out the following Monday. Seems like a win-win. I just want to say that this is the first Gaga single since Alejandro that has gone into power rotation on a Detroit radio station. Not a single BTW single was put into power rotation here - only TEOG received regular airplay, while BTW was mostly ignored by the Top 40 stations and Y&I only received airplay on Hot AC. Has this ever happened since the song was released? lol. Could club plays be pushing this? That seems like the most logical reason, especially considering Applause should be seeing a huge increase in club airplay from the previous weekends. Since I'm from the Detroit area this makes me so happy!!! I'm thinking this is where a good majority of its positive airplay updates have been coming. Now if only other AMP stations would follow suit. I'm giving up on ClearMedia stations until iHeartRadio festival is over, but AMP can keep this going!
