Though they are starting to allow more explicit words to be played on the radio (such as Bruno Mars song) but I'm not sure if they'd be too happy playing a song like Sex Dreams. Having read the FCC indecency standard Im not sure now. Saying s-x isn't a problem, but the "I touch myself" part may be. The other songs had only a handful of lines that were explicit and could slip by, but not Sex Dreams. "Sex" is most definitely not explicit. If it was it would be censored. The fact that a song about her living for people's cheers is selling this much is really good. I honestly thought it would have failed by now but it's not. Btw, Sex Dreams would slay. Not sure why some think MANiCURE would so better. I feel like the verses were good but the chorus wasn't catchy imo. I really hope it does become the next single unlike Scheibe from the last era where we voted many times and they never picked it cause the label refused. Yeah, the people running the radio stations are who i'm worried about. Not sure if they would want to play a song like SD. "Sex" is most definitely not explicit. If it was it would be censored. Sex is very explicit and a taboo to talk about publicly within society. Just because it's not censored doesn't mean radio stations will have no problem playing it. Btw, don't want anyone to think I'm hating on SD. I prefer MANiCURE as a single but I still love SD as a song and would love a music video for it. I'm just worried about its success. Over the last couple years, radio seems to have opened up a bit to a more diverse selection of music styles, which is good. But it makes it harder to say what's going to connect. Beyonce's tour is slaying most of the other girls and we're going on almost 4 years since Beyonce had a genuine solo hit. Actually if Katy weren't releasing her video tomorrow I'd guess Lorde would overtake Katy in the coming days/weeks. We'll see how much of a boost the video does for her...?
