So she dipped a spot on the Hot 100. Still holding pretty steady.

Like I said, I don't think this is going to "grow" much more, but it turned into a solid hit for her, and did what it needed to as her reintroduction to the public. Ready for bigger and better things toward the end of October.

Lady Gaga's "Applause" dips 7-8 on the Hot 100 but roars to the Radio Songs top 10 (18-9; 73 million, up 23%). The lead single from "ARTPOP," due Nov. 11, is her 10th top 10 on the airplay tally.

That Radio Songs update. She flew past all the dwindling songs

As projected last week, Britney Spears soars onto the Hot 100 at No. 12 with "Work B**ch!" The lead single from her eighth studio set, due Dec. 3, launches at No. 6 on Digital Songs (174,000) and No. 28 on Streaming Songs (1.8 million), while climbing 69-58 in its second week on Radio Songs (21 million, up 31% in its first full week of airplay).

So close to the Top 10.

This, we can call this era a flop if her second single flops, but Applause was never supposed to be the it thing of 2013, now going back in august I still can't believ I thought she would go straight to #1.

She's never going to Top 10 if she doesn't step it up... what was she thinking when she was recording? If that's a personal song just take your album and burn it, baby. She didn't need no introducing single or ****... She just paid dust to a chance of a top 3 song.

VforVendetta

I still believe that Applause will grow more later, maybe even during the second and the third single because Gaga hasn't fully returned from her blackout yet. I mean look at the social 50 chart..

My guess is Interscope and Gaga wanted it to be bigger than it turned out to be, but as Americano has been saying, Gaga just isn't necessarily at that point in her career anymore where the hits are guaranteed and effortless.

In general, it's been a solid single for getting her back in the public's good graces afer she lost them with some of BTW's excess and camp (and this is coming from a staunch fan of the BTW era). She's "primed the canvas" so to speak. However, single number 2 really will be crucial, I think, to the sustained success of ARTPOP.

WAIT. Where's Dark Horse?

inb4 Billboard calculates it wrong again and Applause is #9. :dead:

. Wrecking Ball (=)

2. Roar (=)

3. Royals (=)

4. Wake Me Up (+1)

5. Blurred Lines (-1)

6. Holy Grail (=)

7. Hold On, We're Going Home (+1)

8. Applause (-1)

9. Summertime Sadness (+1)

10. Safe & Sound (+2)

..

12. Work Bitch (HOT SHOT DEBUT)

17. Dark Horse (DEBUT)

Does anyone have TEOG's week by week sales? I think Applause will probably perform similar to it in that aspect. ARTPOP's "success" will depend on the second and even third singles' performance and the album's sales (only part that is shaky).

I remember when I thought the first single would hit number 1 without a doubt, just because it was Gaga, even after knowing Katy would debut her single a week before.  :laughga:

Anyways, I'm hoping it reaches 100m ai.

Why Dark Horse is lower than Work BItch? What a mess. :dead:

Higher airplay and streaming. I don't think DH was sent to radios and it wasn't even uploaded on her Vevo :rip:
