Remember when BTW physical sales were decisive in BTW beating ET for it's 6th week #1?

Proving wrong Perez's prediction that Katy was about to take over that week.

Was this really necessary?

No one said Applause was gonna be a smash hit. And it's not like Applause isnt selling around the same as Wake Me Up in the US.

It just started to sell well. It'll sell over 3 million, and even though I think it's an overrated mess, stop trying to prove that it's not a big smash.

In the US? Like I could go to target and buy it there?

I believe so, if they decide to put it there.

Will the physical CD help? I mean REAL help, not a green update then red.

Idk, I'm just excited to get it, not really about how it'll affect the charts.

i think it will help a bit, if released to major retailers, not just one or two. omg harlem shake is playing on y2k hits what kind of flop mess :smh: but anyways, you know all the stans will buy it because they'd want the physical and it's cool, but little to none of the GP would. it'd still give a good sales push for whatever week that happens.

Applause physical CD hits stores Sept. 24 btw

that will be good for sales for that week and i think it'll show a bit on bb when all the stans buy it.

What clinches its sustained residence in the Hot 100's penthouse this week, however, is a now-rarely-influential chart component: physical singles sales. billboard on BTW 6th week n 1
