for all the work gaga is putting into ARTPOP, katy's basic 300 producers and writers manufactured album better not come close to what gaga sells. not to be mean but gaga deserves to have an advantage in album sales

Well the GP are obviously here for Katy's singles. I'll be shocked if she does anything more than 300K first week. GaGa's frontloaded sales in the albums department might hurt her longevity there. I don't know what to say for her album sales cuz if the GP is barely warming up to Applause, will they go the extra mile and purchase the album.

3. Miley Cyrus - Wrecking Ball
18. Miley Cyrus - We Can't Stop
19. Mike Will Made-It - 23 (ft. Miley Cyrus, Wiz Khalifa & Juicy J)

What kind of domination? :rip:

SOMEONE release the collab with Britney NOW. I need a top 10 hit this era and if Miley Cyrus is the one to give it to her then I don't care. :rip:

Youre exaggerating. Applause wouldnt be getting near 100M airplay if the public hated it. People would be calling in to say to stop playing it/wouldnt request

I never said the GP hated it lol. I just said they're warming up to it; it wasn't an instant frontloaded hit like BTW. Her album sales are thus hard to predict.  And no one calls in to specifically say "I hate this song;stop playing it" lol

I'm pretty sure Prism is gonna sell really well, more than Teenage dream, and ARTPOP will probably sell less than BTW at the beginning. Do you think this could lead to a situation where Gaga can compete with Katy on post-album singles and give her a run for her money?

Her post-album singles tend to perform relatively weaker. The same goes to almost all post-album singles in general for that matter. The only exceptions are the likes from Katy Perry or P!nk whose previous albums are filled with radio-bound hits from known hit-making machine producers.

Sure, Gaga's future singles from ARTPOP can compete in the long-run since she herself declared that her album is filled with radio-friendly tracks. All I want is at least a #1 HOT 100 single from this era - just for her to continue the streak of her having at least one #1 hit from all of her studio albums.

how do you think radio flops happen?.. People either say its offensive (Sex Dreams? JUDAS.) or they voice their opinion via surveys like Mediabase CallOut

I get the surveys's part because that's their purpose but I think it's hilarious if a station accepts a call in and someone says on air "I hate Judas. Don't play it." My point still stands that her album sales are just ??? right now due to Applause's performance.

lol don't throw SD under the bus yet. If the Rihanna feature is true, radio will eat that song up.

Exactly. If the radio program directors get too much complaints from their regular listeners in a daily basis about a song, they'll have no reservation to simply drop it. Didn't a handful of country music listeners complain about hearing a Gaga single in their radio stations back in 2011? People would voice out their opinions no matter what.

Right now applause is questionable because of Gaga doing very little promo. Im very sure she will do heavy promo for ARTPOP...and if she wont, Interscope will.

I don't think a lot of people called in to say Judas was offensive, I think they just didn't like it period. It's not exactly the kind of song you hear on the radio a lot (mostly referring to the production and vocals during the verses), not to mention the heavy biblical allusions in the lyrics do not exactly mesh well with other pop radio lyrics.

I think the whole Judas controversy was overexaggerated and mostly focused on middle-aged and older Americans who were super-conservative and highly religious (meaning they hated Gaga anyways). I don't think your average 15-29 pop radio listener cared about the lyrics either way. It was just not a good single choice.
