Americano

Featured Posts

My guess is Interscope and Gaga wanted it to be bigger than it turned out to be, but as Americano has been saying, Gaga just isn't necessarily at that point in her career anymore where the hits are guaranteed and effortless.

In general, it's been a solid single for getting her back in the public's good graces afer she lost them with some of BTW's excess and camp (and this is coming from a staunch fan of the BTW era). She's "primed the canvas" so to speak. However, single number 2 really will be crucial, I think, to the sustained success of ARTPOP.

This if her second single flops, bye bye ART-successful-POP era.

Agreed. I think that second single is going to be crucial to the success of the era. Well, chart/profit success, not cultural success.

I doubt it was intentional that Applause wasn't going to be a smash hit, everyone once their singles to be huge hits. It's only after they realized it wasn't going to be that they called it a grower. It's true, it is a grower. And I think that applause as a grower could be very useful. As said, it brought the public back to liking her, without shoving her down their throats. Now, with the second single, it's time to release a smash hit that everyone will be willing to digest after applause. They're ready, they're primed, give it to 'em Gagz. :omfgaga:
