Americano 31,061
SNL should be saved for the week after the album is released, I guess. I'm sure that Gaga can debut at No.1 with ARTPOP based just on the pre-orders + physical sales during the first week. SNL will lift her up the next week, when the sales usually tend to go down. At the moment I would support a performance of APPLAUSE somewhere on TV in the USA, and then she has some time to go to the UK/Europe and Japan for some promo there. USA, UK, Japan, Canada, Germany, France and Australia provided a total of 87% of the announced Born This Way worldwide sales. Those countries are her biggest markets, not to mention that they are also the key touring regions, so it's risky to leave them without proper attention. Interscope might have some plans for album promo there, though... The fact she's doing bad in Germany, France, and Australia
Arturo 40,746
I am so happy that (for now) Interscope are being smart and are not booking promo spots for Applause... I am sure that If TEOG had a chance of hitting 4M in the USA yall wouldn't care about BTW being 3.5M or 3.9 .... I hope you get what I'm trying to say ... there is no freaking point In promoting Applause.. IT's just that kinda song that has 0 chance of making Impact etc.. Its radio updates are still really good though....
Mariano 958
well Applause is just not the right song.. I love It and sometimes I really believe that It's hit worthy but idk .. it's not the right song, the production is dated , lyrics are weird , the video is artistic but kinda dated too... I don't think they should hurry with the 2nd single tho (that was the mistake with BTW's singles) just leave It for 2-3 weeks and then release or start hyping the 2nd single ... Middle October for the 2nd single is ok I guess . . .
Arturo 40,746
"Hit worthy"? It's already a hit :rip:
Mariano 958
Its radio updates are still really good though.... yea I know and that's great ... they should just leave the song now to live Its life alone and these 2M updates on radio are perfect for that .. HYPERCRUSH 42
The fact she's doing bad in Germany, France, and Australia why are you so disrespectful and negative?
Mariano 958
"Hit worthy"? It's already a hit No It's not... It's not even platinum in the USA yet. . . It may become a hit when It reaches 2M but It will be a really small hit .. Alejandro, Lovegame >> Applause and It's a lead single It's like saying that Hold It Against me was a hit ... IT's just Britney that's why people think It's a hit, even tho It hit number 1 on Hot 100 I don't think It's a hit... just like Applause ..

bumblebee 2,528
The fact she's doing bad in Germany, France, and Australia Agree on France and Australia, not sure about Germany. My friends stayed in Germany in August and September and when they heard Applause on the radio after they had got home, they were like: "OMG, that's the song that's been all over the radio in Germany!.." Bye 3,947
#19 Germany #21 France Oh, so not fueling your delusion is disrespectful? It's probably because you use this: all the time that pisses people off. Not me, personally, I recognise enough when someone's having a meltdown over commercial success :ohwell:

It'll probably reach 2M by the time its tumbling on radio. The fact that it's still selling consistently and rising CURRENTLY makes it a hit. Yeah let's call Applause a hit when it has 10 A.I and is selling 40k a week and makes it to 2xPlatinum....

Well I am talking about people on music forums, not the whole world.. And I am sure that no one from the GP even remembers It , It debuted at number 1 and In 3 weeks It was out of top 10 ... Echo 327
But Hold It Against me is a hit Anyway I think Applause is doing well.
bornthisway51 222
Hits are just relative to the artist. Applause is not a "hit" because if you compare it with Gaga's previous hits, it doesn't equate to nearly the success her other singles have had. However, say Gaga had never sold more than 200,000 in the US before, Applause would obviously be judged a hit. That's all there is to it really.
