monsterhooker 3
Now, sis trust me. i have alot of faith it will pick up. remember edge of glory. after it debuted at 3 it fell off the top 10 and took weeks to pick up. it wasnt til that american idol performance that it started to do well. it was one of the most played songs on the radio that summer. I never said Applause wasn't slaying + S&S went platinum and it topped the charts across the world, and by topping I mean #1s. + 3 million copies only in the US. i think applause will sell 3 million copies in the u.s. and maybe 5 worldwide. craig 680
No. She can't afford to waste buzz like that with a dying single for an entire month. The US is the only market that actually matters, whether people like to hear that or not. If Gaga believed that, and just wanted commercial success, she should have been a country or an R&B singer. Cause obviously making over $100 outside the US on two tours is irrelevant.
monsterhooker 3
Sweet baby Jesus that would be good i honestly see telephone or paparazzi success. Maybe not in airplay but in sales.

I don't know what delusional world you're in that you think its performing at an acceptable level thus far.
craig 680
As much I'd like to believe that, I don't think radio is really forced to play anything. Even We Cant Stop never had AMAZING airplay, despite even going #1 on iTunes at one point You know as people who crave new music switch to streaming and youtube, radio is left increasingly with an audience that just wants audio wallpaper while they brush their teeth or drive to work. Jake 0
Radio is still, and will continue to be, the most important promo for music. Period. If Gaga loses radio she can kiss her superstardom goodbye. I'll be satisfied if Applause can pave her way back toward public acceptance and can help set the stage for later singles to blow up. In order to do this I think she needs 100 million AI and double/triple platinum. I think she can get those sales easily if radio stops paying her dust. I don't know what delusional world you're in that you think its performing at an acceptable level thus far. I'm Canadian, and it's freaking obnoxious for you to say the US is the only market that matters. I'm also old enough to have historical perspective on how little dance was played 1993-2008. Even in 1970-80's rock, radio preferred "soft rock" but hard rock did fine in albums and tours. Well, Gaga does "hard pop."
