Bitter 3,640
Yep. Instant gratification tracks as a result of a pre-order count towards single sales. She she gets double sales, really. 1 album, 1 single. on itunes chart tho?

nick4bty 2,758
Seems like the iTunes promotional email helped with the last dark green updated. Gaga/Applause were listed first
Samuel 3
BTW proved Gaga's an album seller, for it to have sold the amount of copies it did with just one real smash was a pretty big deal, it sold on her name alone. Katy sold less albums with TD, and she had 6 #1's under her belt. Same with Beyoncé, 4 did 300k first week and she did that by name alone, we didn't get ANY hits from her in 2011. I'd much rather her have longevity; but I can't see AP pushing anything lower than 400k first week out... (but then again I never would have thought we'd be in the position we were in last week with Applause)

A Stan Was Born 670
If Gaga can continue to get positive publicity for the next three months, I think she could do upwards of 400-500k. She'll get dragged for it by stans for "flopping", but it will still be a bigger opening week than any of their faves will ever see.
pie-kun 1,765
It'd be better for her to have 400-500k opening and have a smooth way down over the following months than to have a huge opening like BTW did and have it drop almost immediately. Applause was released out of nowhere, ahead of its release, with no build up. It's two different scenarios. I think AP can do 500k. It's probably already sold 75-100k just in pre-orders, and it will continue to be on sale for the next 3 months. Not everyone cares about Gaga's singles, but they do go to buy her albums. Just A Holy Fool 2,623
And its prime record buying season... 500-750,000K is more than doable.
nick4bty 2,758
Also a comment on the Katy Pepsi campaign: what a load of horse ****. Just another cheap marketing gimmick by Katy and her team. She's going to perform Roar from an undisclosed location in Brooklyn? Give me a ****ing break. Regardless, I doubt this new song will serve as a second single. Prolly just a promo single. Although who knows: the timing is just really strange. I really don't get the entire thing. Roar will still be a huge force by September 17. Hell, even BTW had 6 weeks before it plummeted. Also, I love the title of Britney's new single! Sounds like a hit to me

Or the Brooklyn Zoo (it has a zoo, right?) so a lion can eat her. #roar

Gerrard174 697
acvii has been increasing for 37.3 hours.. why suddenly it becomes so popular? Watch it dethrone Robin and Katy soon 10,451,730 one million more views on the hour, when could your fav? the numbers are really good. Just hope that the decline after that will be slow so that it could get to 100m sooner.
A Stan Was Born 670
I'd rather Avicii at the top than either of them. I actually like the song. Not more than anything by Madeon, but still. :)
