I can't at people saying 'Applause' isn't relatable.

F*cking stop it.

This. :smh: As if the general public are listening and going "wow this dance song is all about the fact that lady gaga lives for the applause from her fans but i don't have fans therefore i can't relate"

hahaha i swear to god people on here never fail to amaze me

Exactly, hit songs dont HAVE to be relatable, Starships is about sweet F all and it was a hit.

I'm just asking myself something though, why are we all (including myself) counting on the music video and VMA performance to help her get #1? The video can be a repeat of Alejandro and cause a major backlash, and the performance can be another You & I. I should just stick to no expectations and pray this song finds it's way to appeal to the US.

Not to mention Born This Way was only "relatable" to the LGBT community but was still a massive hit. Bye gurl.

I'm sorry but don't bring the "relatable" scenario up again. Who the f*ck can relate to Blurred Lines? How is roar relatable? Has every little teenager gone through a divorce in their life? That's the only age group Katy Perry targets. Give me a break. Most of the songs out there are not relatable to anyone in any way.

Blurred Lines = Fun song for bars/clubs (Catchy as hell)

Roar= Everybody and their mothers have been in a sad situation when they feel less than the others, every song in the market who helps you to be brave and strong is relateable.

Born This Way = Hyped as hell, Express Yourself drama, being promoted since the monster ball tour

Applause=  Not catchy enough, not relateable enough, not hyped enough. The song is only relateable to Gaga, Drag Queens and clearly, you.

Bye girl BYE!

That's true, although im sure Gaga knows what she needs to do to win back the public. Plus Alejandro was a popular video and a hit

The proof of how shallow some of these fans are is the fact that when they heard Applause they were saying "OMG SLAYED THIS SONG IS A MASTERPIECE" then when they hear anything about lower sales than BTW they are like "THIS SONG IS NOT GOOD ENUF THAT IS WHY IT FL0P! GAGS SHUD HAVE DONE COMERSHAL MUSIC" :derpga:

For me Gaga's commercial is Poker Face, Bad Romance. I would love it if she did something commercial. This is her comeback

But why should we dictate what Gaga does and doesn't do? She isn't somebody who writes based on what is popular at the time. If she was, Just Dance would have been an urban banger in the vein of Rihanna.

Having said that, Applause is a catchy-dance song, and that is what is popular on radio now. It's neither commercial nor very experimental.

Sure Alejandro was popular, but you sure it was positive? I know what I saw and read, and those Madonna comparisons and hate on the video...
