It just proves what i said in the other thread, The song is not relateable to the general public as Roar is, therefore, The "low" sales.

Not to mention Born This Way was only "relatable" to the LGBT community but was still a massive hit. Bye gurl.

Born Brave

I'll be honest I don't care how many downloads it had.... I am just happy I got to buy it. I've waited 2 and a half years for that song and I really could care less at this point about charts or sales. I know its a great song.

Not worried yet. Real numbers will be sales week post-VMAs. That's when I'll start to care  :nails:

This. She has barely done any promo. Wait till the VMAs for her to blow up and be back in the media again.

Like I said: I am used to se Gaga killing the competiting, mopping the floor with their blood. THIS IS HER COME BACK DAMN IT!!!

Actually her big comeback is for next week with the video clip premiere, the first performance of Applause at the VMA and worldwide deal with radios ;) Her promo begins NEXT week

And then if she had released an uber commercial pop song you all would be like "Omg I can't believe Gaga has gone so generic!!! She's a sell out now"

Gaga is damned if she does and damned if she doesn't when it comes to her fans. Some people will never be pleased.

Why on earth are her numbers even an issue with you guys? We are fans of her because of her music, not because of how many records she sells. It's obvious which fans would still be here if Poker Face and Bad Romance hadn't been as big as they were.

For me Gaga's commercial is Poker Face, Bad Romance. I would love it if she did something commercial. This is her comeback

You guys KP has momentum built up from TD and Lady Gaga unfortunately is working against her backlash from BTW

She's not gonna smash off the bat like before

Im pretty sure the same people complaining that Applause isnt relatable or commercial enough were calling it generic and basic when it first came out :miley:

I'm really struggling to understand how Applause is a flop tbh...

Just because her previous two lead singles had bigger debuts doesn't mean that she is fading...

Let's compare this to Britney for one second.

Baby One More Time (lead single from her first album) - best-selling song of 1999, sold over 15 million copies (Peaked at #1 on the Hot 100)

Oops I Did It Again (lead single from her second album) - one of the best-selling songs of 2000, sold over 10 million copies worldwide, the album had the biggest debut ever by a female, a record that is still unbroken to this day)

I'm A Slave 4 U (lead single from her third album) - peaked at number #27 on the Hot 100. Oh.....

Was Slave 4 U a flop? No.

Did Britney's third album mark the end of her career in the US or mark a large decline in her relevancy? No.

And this won't for Gaga either.

She HAD a radio deal just like Katy, the hyped the single with all those "leaks" tweets just like Katy with those viral videos, she hasn't perform the single yet, neither Katy Perry and there's articles EVERYWHERE putting Applause against Roar, my god, even Vevo had that Gaga Vs Katy banner a few days ago.

Both singles had the same chances to be No.1, it was up to the GP to choose, and they chose.

almost right, except katy has the radio deal for longer time.
