NOT at all. I couldn't care less about the charts. Its a number, that does change the sound of the song to my ears. How idiotic. BUT, there is a reason that most peoples favorite gaga songs were smash hits - because they catchy, they fun, they're ARTPOP. To me, my opinion, Applause is not ARTPOP, and my opinion is the same regardless if it were number one or number twenty.

You don't know what ARTPOP sounds like

By ARTPOP I mean as a concept in the video, blending art and pop. I mean, the shell outfit in the music video was not subtle enough, and it comes of as slightly - I dislike this word - but pretentious. I'm now confused about the ARTPOP concept - if she said the public does not own her image, why is she now about making a song and video about pleasing the audience. She's talking too much about the audience and not herself, I feel no emotion from the video - her public image is far too self-conscious and constructed. I feel as if this is not the music and concept she wants to make, that the original ARTPOP concept has been confused along the way...

Guess what guys, the last time we saw Gaga on the red carpet of any music show was ..... Feb. 2011 on the Grammy's, and she was in egg  :emma:  so I guess her last 'proper' red carpet apperiance was on 2010 VMA's I really hope that she could sneak like for 5 min on the red carpet it feels like forever I really miss that...her coming in some outfit and all the cameras on her and the press leaving the generic basics behind just to go and be the  1st to take a pic of Gaga. And now that she is opening again...Katy will make that flawless look red carpet and no one will talk about how Gaga looked stunning on the red carpet  :awkney:

It's much more fun to have hizophrenia... u never get lonely

You and I was mediocre, Judas and Marry the Night were just released at the wrong time. Judas shouldn't have been a single and MTN should've been a first/2nd single but the instrumental should've been like how it was in the demo.

I don't think You and I is mediocre, but I agree that the timing of the singles and the order they were released was just wrong

I feel like although the songs themselves aren't mediocre, they are mediocre as singles/radio hits. Judas shouldn't have ever even been considered as a single. You and I isn't a song for the radio at all, unless we take a time machine back to the 80s. And Marry the Night could've been great if released earlier, although even then, the lyrics are a bit oblique for the average listener. I think a lot of people just didn't understand what it means to "marry the night," you know? Anyhow, that horse has been beaten to death in this forum.

I feel the same about her constantly talking about how much of an artist she is. I know she's very serious about her work and she is a great artist, but I also know from my own creative experiences that my absolute worst work has always come about when I was trying to make "high art" or make it perfect. The best stuff comes out when I'm just goofing around and not aiming for anything in particular. I worry that she's gotten so focused on perfection that she's lost sight of the spontaneity that made her great in the first place. And in the end, art isn't just about art -- it's about life, about reality. I feel like Gaga keeps getting further and further from planet earth and she's making herself un-relatable to the public. Applause is the worst offender so far. I can't relate to the song whatsoever, I just like the sound of it. I couldn't be a Koons if I tried! I hope the rest of the tracks from the album aren't about such pretentious topics.

But it's not really that unrelateable. Like I relate to it because I live for my friends approval and my family is the people booing at me. My friends are giving me the applause. Just because her music isn't literal that doesn't mean it's not relatable.

I want Gaga to wear the wig that she's been wearing this whole week.

I'm Chloe. Except the C and the L are silent.

I think it's really cute that Gaga and Katy will be sitting next to eachother. I really hope they genuinely get along together.
