Buy! Or gift! Noooow.

We have to get #5 today! Even if it's just for a day

Don't worry about it, trust me. Dark Horse is bowing out now and Applau5e will sit comfy on its throne for several days longer at the least, several weeks longer at the most. I anticipate Walking On Air will come up, linger for a while and vanish away before Applause leaves the top 10 at any rate.

I think Roar, DH and walking on air are v disappointing. I know she's going down the commercial big hit sounds for the first few singles but they sound terribly bland to me. She gets a free pass this time though because of TDs crazy success.

Gaga's solid sales and increasing radio are a good sign though.

I'm so surprised that applause is getting such good updates on kworb, like nothing is going on, no promotion or anything but it's going up, the only thing I can think of is that when people look at the top 10 on itunes they see two katy perry songs and think to themselves "oh well i've heard roar already" and then they go to listen to dark horse and see a gaga song under it and out of curiosity click it and realize it's 10x better than they expected and buy that instead of dark horse. but hey, what do i know

sis, while im sure thats the case for some, the reason its doing well on itunes is because it's finally getting the best promotion of all: radio airplay. this is why doing well on radio is so important.

Still #10 on iTunes Canada. What the hell is wrong with my country?

Not that bad, #30 in The Netherlands  :noparty: flopcountry

I think she'll pass Dark Horse soon! I mean, Dark Horse is only a promo single, not an actual single...now that the buzz around the release this past week has gone down, it'll fall out of the Top 10 soon as any promo single would. I'm sure Walking On Air will jump into the Top 10 after it's release on the 30th (I think). But I'm so happy the single is holding its own in the Top 10.

This is exactly what I wanted for Applause, longevity in the top ten. I'm really happy for her. This is not an obvious choice for a first single and a tough sell, but here she is in the top ten with radio play increasing. It's a hybrid mutant baby of art and mainstream pop tropes with a splash of Bowie sweat for saltiness and flavor.

Gaga's knows what she is doing.
