Nick1495 991
I honestly don't understand what's so great about that song Royals. I think it's quite boring. The few times I gave it a try to see what the big deal is about it, I nearly fell asleep. I think it's just we have become so accustom to dance tracks that when Lorde came in with a simplistic track that basically was only drums and her vocals, it came a surprise to listeners. I'm a huge fan of Lana Del Rey and the Lumineers and they aren't dance songs either. There's just something about Lorde and Royals that doesn't sit well with me. I guess to each their own. It's all a matter of personal taste.

Mister G 10,419
I have to agree. Royals is practically the second coming of Rolling In The Deep to the American general public. I wouldn't go that far only because Rolling In The Deep took a while before it blew up overnight. I remember that song was out for like 2 months and then overnight climbed straight to the top. Plus with Adele, no one really knew much about her or her style until "21." Hell, most people didn't even know there was a "19." Royals is already at the top and people already know who she is. I'm actually quite content for Lorde considering she's the youngest artist to chart so high in I think the last 26 years or so. james 37
i'm happy it's fallen so much down itunes chart it means we can be greedy and hopefully get a new 'song' plugged from interscope.. even though the sales are doing great and stuff it's just never gonna be a number #1 but it's had its longevity Edited October 8, 2013 by james
