nick4bty 2,758
Exactly. Wonder why the promo spot hardly considered building Gaga up in radio, she's badly in need there. Apparently they gave her a radio deal on Monday, but it ended and then her spins decreased dramatically. Even so, Katy's deal ended yesterday and it only went from 1400 to 1200 spins (Gaga went from 1500 to 500). Radio is just not here for Gaga it seems. Let's hope it's a grower

VasilisVas 5,045
Why do some of you people have a hard time understanding that the song leaked a week before it's release date? Is it really that hard to comprehend? I'm sure the radio stations would have played Applause at every top of the hour all day on it's original release date due to deals Gaga and her team probably made with them so that the song would get exclusive play. I bet most of the radio stations still don't have the song due to the rush release, and I bet most stations will start playing her song non-stop to the point where everyone will get sick of it on Monday when her song was suppose to originally be released. The song will go number 1 sooner or later. Until then, shut the f*ck up, and listen to the song, and chill the f*ck out. Enough is enough with most of the bull**** you people say. beepeepz 0
I agree with this. But Katy is getting way more airplay and promo from banners, etc., so logically it makes sense that she's #1. If Gaga had the same radio deal and support in play, and had lead banners all over iTunes and YouTube, she would probably be #1 right now. She will, she will. Just wait for it. Look at the whole thing realistically. Interscope may not have properly launched promo yet. Gaga is their biggest cash machine, they ain't gonna let the first single burn out so quickly. Right now only fans are doing all the work, together with other online mediums (celeb websites, music websites, vevo, etc.). When Interscope launches promo that is worthy of a megastar, we'll judge then.
toanythingtaboo 5
Bad Romance didn't go #1 in the US and she somehow survived. As relatively safe and catchy as Applause is, Roar was clearly formulated to be a smash. Just like Tik Tok over Bad Romance, it's not really a comment on which popstar they like more or what song is superior, but rather which song has more kids buying it. nick4bty 2,758
Oh my god, you guys stop being that dumb (sorry bout that). Isnt #1 in FOURTHY TWO countries enough? Is that FLOP? LMAO. Applause had a rushed release, they're not promoting it as they wanted. Applause audio already has more views than Roar's lyric video (and it was released later than that). Wait till Applause's lyric video, then we have the video, the VMAs, iTunes festival.... Just because she's at ****ing #2 on US doesnt mean she's flopping! THE WORLD IS NOT ONLY THE USA. EDIT: even tho you were kidding I said it to everyone who's talking **** about Applause flopping and all... Dont take this to personal No problem! lol. I can totally understand where you're coming from. Gaga has a TON of promotion coming up. This is just the beginning :)

Haus 152
Is it doing well on radio? If so then maybe more people will buy it but your right its far from a flop. I'm not entirely sure how it's doing on radio. I heard Roar has a TON more spins.
