I thought the numbers were comparison to the #1 song so it's confusing. Pretty much. That list is based on average comparison sales, so the top spot represents a single sale of the top selling song. For every Roar single sold, 0.62 Applause singles are sold at the moment. For Gaga to get to the top, she needs to sell more singles so that Roar will then be compared as being <1 single sold per single of Applause.
