If anything, the whole situation of Gaga being stuck at #2 somehow shows that her core fan base is no longer that formidable in delivering extremely huge opening numbers for her, at least relatively compared before. It seemed everyone thought Gaga will be the one who'd outsell Katy in the opening days, but the exact opposite is happening. And that's something hard to fathom.
