As soon as RADIO plays the song more and people hear it the interest will peak.  I have not even heard it on my radio yet.  And from the looks of it my station has barely played it

I know...It just needs time...I'm sure it will peak higher in a week

How many smash hits start out really strong? Not many. Most hit songs have to climb. Yes, even those by well-known pop stars. Bruno Mars is the biggest male pop star in the world and his song only debuted at #11 on Digital Songs. Rihanna is one of the biggest singers right now and both of her most recent lead singles started at #7 (digital). All three songs made it to the top eventually and have great sales tallies.

Week one is not the end all be all. Gaga can afford to dip a little bit right now, it won't hurt her.

The smartest thing someone has said in 3 days

Yep I know it will people just haven't heard it yet.

If you want to put your computer on mute, you can play this playlist and it will put time in between the plays of the two applause videos. It will also help boost love game and the edge of glory. You can just put it on repeat.

Hopefully, this will make the repeat views count for each of the new videos.

I'd prefer Applause to have similar success to those songs rather than having a few huge weeks and dropping like Born This Way.

Guys the reason no one is buying is that radio is not playing it

Not exactly. First week sales are usually driven by fan sales, not radio support. If anything, the whole situation of Gaga being stuck at #2 somehow shows that her core fan base is no longer that formidable in delivering extremely huge opening numbers for her, at least relatively compared before. It seemed everyone thought Gaga will be the one who'd outsell Katy in the opening days, but the exact opposite is happening. And that's something hard to fathom.
