Mariano 958 Posted August 13, 2013 Share Posted August 13, 2013 Simple fact: If there wasn't a pre order , Applause would've probably be at number 1 considering there are 2 versions of the song at number 2 and 60-70 and 2 versions of the album pre order at number 2 and 25-30 which means right now Applause is probably selling more than Roar with less radio airplay. Not the "Delusional Charts Discussion", someone can have a negative opinion about how the song is doing. Granted she hasn't done any promotion yet, I personally feel that Applause will eventually come out on top. "Roar" is cute, but it's not hot. Also, can I just say how happy I am that Taylor Swift's record for fastest number 1 on iTunes remains unbothered by the two reigning pop queens. Ozzy8923 9 Posted August 13, 2013 Share Posted August 13, 2013 Yeah, the sales will be fine in the end seeing as pre-orders are counting, but it just lessened the illusion that Gaga was a digital sales powerhouse like no other. I mean, clearly skyrocketing to #7 is a fantastic achievement, but when people see you blocked by Katy Perry of all people, that isn't a good thing to see. Especially for us stans. I've been saying for weeks that the song would have to sell over 700K to debut at #1. Yeah that % is with the clean version added in. No one really cared about the whole album yesterday, it was about Applause leaking.
