US Charts Discussion - Applause: 200K+ projection (Week 1)

Even if Roar wasn't out yesterday Gaga wouldn't have topped iTunes until this morning which is still disappointing IMO considering her prior chart performance.

Applause is a good lead single though. Hopefully it'll catch up. I just can't believe how long it's taking. I knew her presence was deminished, but wow.

None of this is meant to be negative either. We're just making chart observations in the US Charts thread. For anyone who followed her chart performance prior to Born This Way this is pretty shocking.

Everyone knew when BTW was released. This got rushed and we had an audio video up for like 10 hours before we could even buy it. US had to wait until late to buy Applause. If they aren't monsters, they likely went to bed and would buy it today after work/school. BTW was available at 9am.

If the song wasn't rushed out the release would probably be more impactful. It's a shame it had to happen this way but with the video premiere on GMA, VMA performance and increasing radio exposure I'm sure it will be fine.

The rise has been slow I see. :laughga:

Is it possible that Roar will see another full day at #1 before Applause takes the lead?

Will it ever take the lead at all?

Questions, so many questions. :rip:

I can't believe how badly some of you are freaking out. I mean, I get how it seems as though she's lost some of her digital power, but I think we should wait and see how it does today to see if that's true. I'm sure many potential buyers don't even know her song is out, since she's been proclaiming since July that it wouldn't be out until next Monday. Just give it some time people. It will likely get there. Also, if I'm correct, the pre-sale of ARTPOP sales of Applause aren't reflected in the iTunes singles chart, and since that is at #2 and #29, I'm assuming many people got the song that way. I guess we'll really just have to wait and see who sold more.

If Roar and Applause were removed, KWORB would look like this:

1. Robin Thicke - Blurred Lines (feat. T.I. & Pharrell) 1.0000
2.JAY Z - Holy Grail (feat. Justin Timberlake) 0.6140

Blurred Lines has dropped a LOT since Roar's release.

Oh and I saw some people saying it's on Spotify? I'd love to know where, because I don't see it on there.
