YASSS.  Thats what I love about Argento in Italy (and also in Japan)-he is seen as not a legendary horror director but a legendary director. He has a distinctive style which for me makes a good director. I actually met Dario Argento when I was 16 when he was releasing La Terza Madre here in North America.  It was an amazing moment! I have a photo but it was towards the end of my awkward teenage years lol

Wow I am so glad that you Americans know him ;)

To be honest his last works like 'The Terza Madre' or 'Dracula 3D' weren't so good like his first movies in the 70's-80's but he still remains very great for me in general ;)

Texas HoldEm

nothing, it was dropped entirely

Except it wasn't?

She has a killer vagina, but Kyle is already pretty dead, so it doesn't kill him.

There were a few things that I think could be criticized, but I don't think the killer vagina is one. It's obvious Kyle and Zoe are set up so that they're meant to be together.

Did anyone else fall in love with how camp this show is though?

Im not a critique when it comes to story lines.... But how AHS did with their stories was just bad. Delia immediately getting powers, jumping story lines, etc. really bad writing. But still, its entertaining.

I agree.  La Terza Madre had some great moments (I think the low budget really hurt this film and prevented it from being the great film it could have been) but in my eyes his last masterpiece  was La Sindrome di Stendhal.  Any Argento movie from his debut The Bird With The Crystal Plumage to Opera is pretty much guaranteed an amazing film. :D

No, it was the "power" that sent her to the school to begin with

Suddenly she acquires new powers because a killer vagina isn't needed to be the Supreme and it wasn't mentioned after the 4th episode once they knew where they wanted to go

Oh yes, I love that one, there's her daughter on it, I think she's famous also in USA, Asia Argento, she did a movie with Vin Diesel and also appears in Marie Antoniette (she's very particular).

In Italy definitely 'Profondo Rosso' (Deep Red) is the most famous along with 'Suspiria', and 'L'uccello dalle piume di Cristallo' from the 70's, 'Non ho sonno' (2001) and 'Il Cartaio' (2004), are his last good works in my opinion but definitely thriller-oriented not much horror :)

Who is La Terza Madre and why are we talking about it?

I hope the next season has aliens in it, but have their part be more significant and better written.

*shields eyes from spoilers*

I watched the first episode of season one but I didn’t really like it.

The plot lines of season 1 and 2 don’t really appeal to me, so I don’t think I’ll watch them.

This afternoon I watched the first episode of Coven tho, and I really liked it!

About to go and watch episode 2 now!

You're missing one of the best seasons ever if you don't watch Asylum.

I read through the plot description, but aliens and thing really don't appeal to me :noparty:

If I end up really liking Coven, then I'll probably watch the first 2 seasons (:

We are having an enjoyable conversation about witch movies directed by Dario Argento who is one of Ryan Murphys main influences for AHS, especially this season.  I do not see the problem in that.  This is a forum, and I would say its relevant to the discussion.  No need to be negative.  :smh: Check out my original post a page back which sparked the discussion.

^Ah ok!  La Terza Madre is part of a witch movie trilogy by Dario Argento.  Suspiria, Inferno, and La Terza Madre (Italian for The Third Mother also know as Mother of Tears).  The trilogy is about 3 ancient witches in 3 different parts of the world-Italy, Germany, and NYC, and the bizarre happenings that go on when people enter their respective secret residencies.   Each film concerns themselves with one of the witches.  The films are arty and peculiar and super stylish and very influential on modern horror, especially AHS Coven! be sure to check them out if you enjoy that kind of stuff and AHS. :)
