it was posted a year ago... They could have worked with her who knows but it doesn't matter.  The song is flawless now

They did work with her, they produced Aura someone said earlier

Or did I dream it :gum:

That's okay. Other artists sample all the time, and this is a "rough cut" demo. She might change it, she might not. I'm fine with it either way. The song slays and it's not like this was a super popular song that everyone and their mother was bopping their heads to already. It's new enough.

Zedd & Infected Mushroom produced Burqa, we learned that yesterday from Gaga through Emma :)

Just because she sampled the intro doesn't mean she copied or isn't original, she sampled Queens 'We Will Rock You' drum beat in You and I.

Aura still slays though

At the end of the day, it's a bop so I'm not complaining; I love the song and will enjoy listening to it.

At the same time, the thing I've always loved about Gaga is how the producers she works with are so different with her. She creates something truly unique with them.

Aura/Burqa IS a unique song, but when you get into the EDM sections? It's classic Zedd/Infected Mushroom... it's not unique. It doesn't feel different. When Gaga worked with RedOne, she made RedOne amazing - would you guess that Scheisse was produced by the same guy that produced Live it Up? No. I could tell that this was Zedd (and Infected Mushroom if I bothered listening to them) from a mile away.

I want Gaga to produce something unique with the producers she works with; I don't want them to put their music onto her song. I want them to create something that is truly a collaboration, a unique collaboration that includes both styles.

But as I said, happy for the song to exist, because it's amazing.

This means she basically had nothing to do with the producing of the song besides lyrics?

lody spilled some seriousy hot truth tea. Watch out!

All I hear in my head is:

"I am in there writing every lyric, every melody,..."

:flop:

But she's not an electronic music producer, so I mean, I get that she didn't write that song herself. But it is sort of unfair that she keeps up this "I'm a true songwriter" shtick when she chose a genre in which she is forced to work with other people to provide 70% of the songs.

the producers are the infected mushrooms, so what is wrong with them using their own song??

Its probably their work tho, its only that Gaga didn't record vocals yet. I think its same as with "Cake". I was just thinking that maybe she planned it to be the next soundpuzzle such as Stache. Anyway I'm pretty sure they produced it together and thats only Infected Mushroom's part. Thats all, nothing illegal happened neither that Gaga re-used an already existing instrumental.

you know poker face was also a sample? get over it. so she is the only artist accountable for sampling, but when someone like gwen does a mega sampling with luxurious, it's innovative and amazing?

I don't think there's anything morally wrong with it. Read my above post, that's what I find sad about it. Gaga is known for making something fresh with every artist she works with, and this is an amazing set of lyrics and melodies put over an already made song.

The only new instrumental bits in Aura/Burqa are the chorus bits and the guitar in the intro that is slightly edited, along with some drums.

The verse is identical. :noparty:
