Weasel 12,525
Do you remember the 212 song by Azealia Banks? Huge hit. Everyone loves it. It's just Azealia rapping over a song that was already written and produced by someone else. She didn't even change the song one note. Did anyone care? Nope. So why do we care if Gaga did it or not? As long as she's giving credit for what others helped with, it's all good. 212 was brilliant, and so is this! True, at least we haven't heard a Madonna comparison yet

kupo 201
Spin's Marc Hogan--who is actually a legit, respected music critic--was very negative, too, calling it a "grasping EDM mess," lol. But I remain unbothered. I LOVE how messy this is. To me, that's one of the best things about Gaga's brand of pop. It's FULL of rough edges and seams and jarring juxtapositions of sound that can often make you bristle the first few times. There's a sort of dementedness in her brand of pop, but that's precisely why it's on another level from her peers. I'll never forget the first time I heard Judas and realized she had--apparently for no real reason--decided to sing the verses in a militant patois. The verses of Judas remain one of the best musical "moments" of her career. Here for more of that kind of stuff. Which is precisely why I love this song's incongrous intro so much. Shaney 5,515
what is AURA actually? According to Andy Warhol, an aura is something other people see in you before even talking to you, or getting to know you.

I have no problem with Gaga sampling a song haha, especially since she writes her own lyrics. I just don't think the users on that thread were considering that she and Infected Mushrooms could've created that production a loooong while back before they started playing it and/or testing it at their shows. All is good though, CANNOT WAIT FOR APPLAUSE!!!!
beaster 0
People, can we get over this "former friend" thing It's clearly POOR FRIEND if you listen carefully you can hear its 2 syllables not 3, so can't be former friend

AgusPop 4,141
OMG, I'm so obsessed with the first chords of the song. And Gaga's voice... !!! Its so Ennio Morricone Vintage Westerns :worship2:
Leo 3,000
It's not uncommon for Gaga to drop a song title from one of her songs into another song. "I want to Just Dance but he took me home instead. Uh oh there was a monster in my bed." So it's possible this isn't THE Burqa song. Heavy Metal Lovers play, Baby we were Born This Way. Possible. MonsterofFame 1,786
You were all ignoring the fact that the song could've been created WITH Gaga before they started playing it at their shows. Admin in charge of sites like Propagaga said they knew Gaga was having certain producers play her instrumental demos at their sets throughout the years of 2012-2013, they just didn't know exactly what producers. Turned out Infected Mushroom was one of those producers. You don't know the facts, I wouldn't get so worked up over it right now though. Who knows, the finished product may be completely different & Gaga could've created the beat with them before they started playing it at their shows. Exactly. Billboard's instrumental for Britney's "Inside Out" is one of the things that led Dr. Luke to sign him, and they ended up writing verses to fit the song Billboard already produced. I have a feeling this version of Aura is very close to the final thing. The Haus and all the insiders kept referencing it as Burqa, and now it's only mentioned once in the song. "Burqa" and "Aura" could be interchanged without having to change anything musically, so I think Gaga changed it to avoid any controversy of pinpointing a specific culture.
