Save-Me-Oprah 6 Posted August 6, 2013 Share Posted August 6, 2013 It seems pretty simple to me - the T's, D's, C's etc., are all apart of how she enunciates when she sings so you can understand what she's singing. She probably learned it when she took classical voice training. It thus carries over to the music. It's also a sign of all the studio work she's been doing. Even when she's not singing, it sticks with her. She sound Russian and you can tell she's trying to put it on by the way she keeps stopping to think "hmmm how do I say this word with this accent..." Such as when she was discussing ARTPOP, she wanted it to sound proper for a reason, and that reason was ARTPOP is more of an artistically academic effort from her, and that is evident with her sudden collaborations with people I've only ever read about in art history class; real, contemporary fine artists that she is free to collaborate with now. It's her just doing an accent that fits 'Solaris.' I love Solaris, and I believe she's just having fun here and doing something interesting, but Solaris is about people generating people from their own psyches and actually materializing them, and one could say that she's done that with Jo, Yuyi, Nymph, etc. So this may be a bit of insight into how she thinks, but perhaps not. It is quite a specific novel to read, and I've only ever seen the remake with George Clooney, but the fact that it's one of her favorites, just proves that she and I are basically twins as I've always thought! hahah.
