garnite 8
the house thing was kinda dumb but its just property with NO FEELINGS. Why would anyone be attached to their HOME? You dont have to have a sense of nationalism with a flag, just deal with the fact people are proud of their country and display it through a flag. I'm not the biggest fan of flags and their symbolism (its kinda form of nationalistic propaganda) but I at least RESPECT that people have pride in their country through flags. Its SYMBOLIC. why? because they live there and they personally own it and it contains all of their worldly possessions? go to the store and find a rack of cotton shirts that are all the same. now take one and wipe it all across the floor and tell me that it would hurt you as much as your house being burnt down. and even if you think that's stupid, i'm going to tell you about the history of cotton and how important it was for many people in the past to support their families. i mean, who cares? that's essentially what people do when they lionise a flag in this vulgar way. you certainly can be proud of your country and display it through a flag. that has no bearing on whether one should be offended if it touches the ground. i respect no irrational plank who would take offence to such a thing, regardless of whether or not it's a norm or part of their culture. female genital mutilation is part of certain african and muslim cultures. do i respect it? nope. many people idiotically do, because they think everything foreign to them must be "respected". give me a break. Adakam 2
what a sad notion that a nation would instill feelings of offence into its people by making them fear even the most meaningless of "desecration" towards a mere piece of cloth by making such a thing punishable. very sad indeed. i agree, its the same as when an artist messes up a lyric of a national anthem, they get dragged for years, its part of the government control that happens since childhood, we are taught to worship a symbol that its just a label in our butts New World Order FTW!!! Countries GTFO!! lol jk

Sebastien 16
Ahh c'mon, I'm not a JB fan but seriously? Someone threw the flag on the stage to begin with, was he supposed to dance with it on stage? Maybe he went about the wrong way doing it but I don't get the big deal. Dunk96 2,526
Can this forum just treat Justin like we treat Perez and pretend he doesn't exist. Except nobody pretends Pigrez doesn't exist,so what difference would that make? Edited November 14, 2013 by Zephyr
