Zacgaga 2
It took more than another 24h to update ? Yes, it took about to days to tally up all the views.
tylerjudas 374
It's always taken about 24 hours to get the correct total from VEVO. Same thing happened with Rihanna and NIcki's past videos.
Sara 1,128
Im sure we broke that record, just look: Telephone Music Video: 172,590,643 Views - 304,105 Likes Applause Music Video: ? ?? Views - 231,005 Likes That IS very interesting, but it could just mean that Applause is getting extremely high "like" ratings because it's such a good song and video. hater 32
I think telephone was out before the "likes"? Cause I'm sure it would have at least a million likes. I called 18 million and I'm sticking with it
PatrickMonster 6,507
That IS very interesting, but it could just mean that Applause is getting extremely high "like" ratings because it's such a good song and video. It's because back then it wasn't so popular to rate videos. Also there weren't so much people with a Youtube-account compared now. Also you dont even have to register, you only need a Gmail-account to rate. That wasn't the case years ago...
tezbear91 745
8 million is great! Well done guys! If Applause was as well "liked" as Blurred Lines, then it should have 50 million views.
SomethingMore 1,701
That IS very interesting, but it could just mean that Applause is getting extremely high "like" ratings because it's such a good song and video. Telephone was out before like/dislike button appeared on Youtube. Just Dance has only 130,000 and over 160m views. It means nothing. We should simply wait for Vevo. msquare91 1
But even among modern videos, 231k likes is awfully high for a video with only 8 million views (if that really is the final count) Like, Blurred Lines has 142 million views, and 652k likes. If Applause was as well "liked" as Blurred Lines, then it should have 50 million views. It's probably better to compare it to a more recent video, such as the Applause lyric video, because the longer a video is up, the more views it will receive and the less likes. People like a video once at the beginning, but then may continue to watch it many more times without being able to like it again. With that said, the Applause lyric video has nearly 5 million views and 84,000 likes/dislikes. The music video has 257,000 likes/dislikes. 257,000 / 84,000 = 3, roughly. So the music video should, theoretically, have roughly 3 times as many views as the lyric video, meaning 15 million views. It's not an exact science, so it might not have that many, but it DEFINITELY has more than 8 million, which is only half of the estimate. StrawberryBlond 14,869
Three things to remember, everyone... 1. This is not the final figures. If it was, there'd be data in the statistics section and there isn't. Everytime there's a view update, click the Statistics button (the bar chart icon) and if it says "no statistics available" then it's not the final figures. 2. We currently have the 4th highest VEVO debut in history, with 8.2 million views. That's beaten jauggernaut teen pop videos like Boyfriend by Justin Bieber (8 million) and Live While We're Young by One Direction (8.2 million). Both of those videos were lead singles. We're currently fourth behind Best Song Ever, We Can't Stop and Beauty And A Beat. With still more views to be counted. 3. The record to beat is 12.3 million. That means we need 12.4 million to beat it. I don't know why everyone's saying: "We need 13 million" all the time. No, we only need 100,000 views more than Best Song Ever. We're currently 4.1 million away. Sounds a bit better when you put it like that, doesn't it? And as I reiterated before: Applause Official Audio - 12.7 million views with 184,000 likes and 24,000 dislikes. It gained that in a week. The video managed to achieve 176,000 likes in little over half a day. It's now at over 233,000 likes (an over 250,000 overall ratings) in less than 2 days. Therefore, it's highly possible that we've achieved the record. Gaga videos never achieve likes as quickly as this, so she's getting views at a far more accelerated rate this time. Katy Perry's Roar lyric video has over 13 million views and it currently has practically the same likes and dislikes as Applause.
