alffy74 53
The counts can't possibly be for 24 hrs. They said it is through August 19. 24 hrs finished at 8:30 am on the 2oth, and we don't even know whether through August 19 means 11:59 pm August 19 or some other time. In any case, I don't care as long we beat the time to 100,000,000 views record. Also, can some make a gif or emoticon of SWANGA...my favorite part of the video
HausOfMiklaus 1,803
I'm slightly worried that this whole record fiasco is taking too long to resolve. I just feel bitter that if it had been any other artist attempting to break it, the process would've been quicker and easier to follow. You and me both. It's not even about the record anymore, I just genuinely want to know the first day views and there still seems to be no concrete stats after nearly three days. How come all the other record holders got their records so cleanly and easily and above all, knew that they'd broken it, and we're left on tenderhooks? The world's got something against Gaga. There's always been some element of sabotage or method of undermining her acheievements since 2011 and I just want her to have a successful, stress free era that the likes of Katy, Rihanna and Adele can pull off so easily. This lot have had their time, isn't it time to let Gaga shine again after a tough period?

MonsterMarty 96
Whether or not the record was broken, 6.8 million seems fairly low based on the amount of likes and in retrospect of the current view count. It was jumping by over a million at different times, this could easily be an incomplete tally. If not, we were closer to breaking the record in the second 24 hours... Highway Capricorn 24
If you look closely, you will see that these 6.8 million views were till 19.08, the day the video was released, we should wait to see what are the views till 20.8. I don't know if it's just because I get very passionate (and defensive) about her but I never see other artists face the same difficulties she's been facing. That's why it's so hard not to be bitter sometimes, when you know this woman is so great and forward-thinking but everyone around me is always failing to see it. /rant over. Sorry! StrawberryBlond 14,881
For a mainstream popstar, Gaga sure goes through some serious pitfalls. But it could be worse. There are other popstars who are so much worse off right now (Christina and Beyonce spring to mind...and I doubt Britney's new stuff is going to take off considering she won't even be touring the world with it). But being in competition with the likes of Katy and Rihanna right now, it's like they get the fruits of life and Gaga's left with the pips. They seem to get more priority in promotion and radio spins. Here I was thinking that all A-list popstars got the same treatment. I thought after her tough two years and her hip op that the world would actually like to get a phoenix rising from the ashes but they just seem to want to extend the success of already successful artists out even longer. That Bill Werde guy was so quick to call Gaga out for posting a link with multiple videos and said that kind of cheating isn't in the spirit of what Billboard charts and you didn't hear a cheep out of him when 1D broke the record and there's no way that video got 12.3 million individual views! More like a few million girls watching it over and over!

NewYorkCity 10,536
Vevo is getting me on my nerves Ive been thinking... what if we are giving to it tons of views and they want to keep us refreshing their website so they upload the views slowly and dont give us any clue? Idk but reading all the comments everything seems so weird...
