Kinda like Judas?

I didn't like the fact that the music just stops suddenly. I want a music video with 20 seconds (max) of intro and another 20-30 seconds of outro, that's it

yeah that sounds good to me...judas was what I was thinking...something more than just dance, but like born this way or judas I guess...i mean she's done a lot of the mini movies recently but honestly..most of her videos aren't that long...paparazzi, telephone, and marry the night are the mini movies...the others are just regular videos with a little added.

SKANK

This makes me think she believes the song doesn't hold enough weight to be released without a visual aide. By premiering it with a video she sort of takes control out of the publics hands and is able to tell us how we should perceive the song..rather then just letting the song speak for itself. Does that makes sense?

Or it could just be some genius marketing stratagy that I don't understand.

Either way, I'm excited.

I totally get what you're saying, but I think it's just a marketing strategy.

Totally get what you're saying. It made me worried too, then I realized that the Billboard charts now include YouTube views. So she probably just wants to be able to say her comeback was #1.

OMG!!!

But wouldn't a video release later in the week be a better idea? She'd rack views with the audio then even more with the video. Oh well, better wait and see how she pulls this off.

I was thinking the same thing, tbh.

I would love to have the video in the same day as the actual single, but would that help her reach #1 ?

Interscope know what they are doing...right ?

Yes, Interscope knows what they are doing. This is how music videos/singles used to be debuted and it worked out in the artist's favor. They would debut the music video on MTV 3 hours after its radio release. And she will be getting all the views the audio track would have anyways on Youtube for the music video...it's brilliant. When people hear her song on the radio they'll youtube it and be even more inclined to listen to it AND watch the music video, helping her snatch that #1 spot on Billboard. Not to mention in this day-in-age where everyone is so impatient and glued to technologhy, it is extremely smart of her & her team to release both around the same time.

That would be perfect !

I have a feeling this is also tied to the fact that the app is available for pre-order on the same day. People who enjoy the video may be even more inclined to pre-order the app as well.

Even without the Youtube views.. her comeback will be #1.

What I mentioned before, I think it's more of a marketing strategy. This is how music videos/singles used to be debuted and it worked out in the artist's favor. They would debut the music video on MTV 3 hours after its radio release. And she will be getting all the views the audio track would have anyways on Youtube for the music video...it's brilliant. When people hear her song on the radio they'll youtube it and be even more inclined to listen to it AND watch the music video, helping her snatch that #1 spot on Billboard (if that's what she wants). Not to mention in this day-in-age where everyone is so impatient and glued to technologhy, it is extremely smart of her & her team to release both around the same time.

And they said they're toning down the image and crazy fashion for this era, letting the music speak for itself, so I believe they do think the songs have longevity.
