We need a short, but strong video. She needs to invent again, but in a way that the GP won't be shocked and uncomfortable. Bad Romance is the perfect example of that. BTW was pushing the envelope, the message, the artistic vision. It was risky and successful, it strengthen her fanbase. But now, she has to catch back the GP like she did with BR and PF, before trying to push the envelope again. I see it as a game, if you push it too much, people will stop caring about you, you gotta have the right dose of general public satisfaction and artistic vision/shocking moment. I was just thinking the same. Almost all of BTW era's video was pushing it already. I sort of miss the old music videos, simple but still enjoyable. Sometimes a 4 minute interlude captivates you (for a while), but sometimes you just remember that very first time you saw your artist in her first few music videos. I'm not saying she should tone it down, given the circumstances I should see why she should sorta go big or go home. Bad Romance was a hit music video alright. As much as I hate to say this, people have forgotten about her. She needs to comeback with a bang! VMAs will be a perfect place to debut the video! It would be amazing! (Has anyone debuted a music video at the VMAs before...is that a thing..?) She does need to do something semi-controversial at the VMAs so she gets media attention (#fame*****probz)! But yeah...I want a 4-5min video that's artistic, fun, with some plot but not a continuation of telephone/paparazzi or marry the night. Her first single is really gonna make or break this album for her in my opinion! And the music video will make or break the song :P. Marry The Night would've done a lot better in the GP if it didn't have such a long music video! Don't get me wrong, I LOVED it, but right now, her fan base will stay loyal. I can see it in my head and it's making me so hyped. I imagine Gaga in a big dance scene with her dancers, with the camera swooping across the set, really close down to the floor, just really epic angles. :excited2: I'm Chloe. ooooooops 0 Posted July 18, 2013 Share Posted July 18, 2013 I'm pretty confident that all of the thoughts we're having now - the concerns, the hopes, the fears, the anticipation - are similar to the monologue Gaga's been having in her head for at least a few months now. I think she's aware that she stands at a crossroads: she can release something brilliant yet accessible (like the Bad Romance song and video, really), or she can be really 'out there' in order to pursue her own creative extremes at the risk of risk further alienating the GP (BTW video).
