ChicaSkas 22,300
Uhm Chica, legal matters? These songs are abandoned, there are no plans for them and most are rough demos. Yes and no. Technically, they are still the property of the label. Nothing we say can change that. And remember, DJ Stolen (and Burim too, if they ever find him) was burned legally for trading, scamming with, and hacking this material. It is a risky business, any way you slice it. You gain great fame in the underground world, from us, the hardest of the hardcore, but you do also run risks. The only reason why people hoard them is to have something everybody doesn't. I think that the main motivation is not to "just have something everybody doesn't" -- but to hear something no one has really heard before. They aren't trying to be smug, they are trying to gain knowledge, and experience the thrill for themselves. I believe these people want to share, but thier sources make them swear not to do it, upon threat of punishment, silence, or even material or personal harm. The first intention right off the bat is never to hold it over people, or at least, it shouldn't be. All other excuses like "Burim is watching me!! Or "it's being tracked" are all lies. The Burim is watching me part is highly unlikely, I agree. Burim is very quiet and doesnt want to be found. On the it's being tracked part --- this IS true. I have seen for myself how the BTW demo CD (all 14 orig. tracks) was watermarked. They just want to be selfish. If you had an opportunity to buy something no one else really had, wouldn't you do it? Wouldn't you rationalize that you deserved it? And on top of that -- what if the guy you bought it from made you sign a paper that swore you wouldn't leak it, or he'd take you to small claims court (which can be done, even in the US.) Would you take the bait? Wouldn't you even be tempted? There are weaker people here than you, if you said no. People who will abide by the rules set before them by the seller already have said yes. The number one BIGGEST mistake those people who said yes make is this: they brag they have the stuff. This screws them bigtime. They are ostracized and hated by the community and abandoned by thier seller. If moderators actually cared about songs leaking, they would take my advice. I care very much. What is your advice? That I ban members for not talking about what they have in their computers, in the privacy of their own homes, that they purchased in confidence? How in God's name could we ever even tell? No, I cannot do that. All I can do is warn them, here and now, if they are reading this page: You had better keep your mouth shut about your material until the day when you wake up in the morning, log in, and know that it is safe to leak it, and you won't get in trouble. We have all been waiting a long time for these, even I am terribly impatient like the rest of you, I adore leaks, I adore Gaga music. But I am willing to wait, because I know firsthand what is at stake here. We have to be patient, good things are truly worth it, and eventually everything gets out there. In the space of one year (which isn't quite over yet :nasty:) we have had 2 unreleased songs leak to the public: Animal, on January 14th, 2011, and now today, December 7th, with The Fame Demo. This is really quite a good pace for unreleased material for an artist. We were also really spoiled in 2010 with the May Leaks and Greatest and Then You'd Love Me/Earthquake, ect, so we have a false expectation of more stuff leaking all the time, when really that was the exception to the rule. Patience, my friends, patience. Do YOU own the 4' by 6' Perfect Illusion promo Poster? Will pay you for it. That's what I was saying in my reply to Electrostep. There is more to this than meets the eye. Do YOU own the 4' by 6' Perfect Illusion promo Poster? Will pay you for it. Ricardo 7,697
There are reasons behind why they make those decisions. you make it sound like it was some kind of mafia these people know that if they share they are going to lose the opportunity of listening to more unreleased tracks, they are not reliable anymore to the group, is not that they are going to get killed for god's sake plus at the end of the day everything is going to leak, who knows in how many years but it will :nails:

I mean ostracized, harassed, ect. It sadly is like a mafia of sorts, you are either loyal or out of the group forever. Do YOU own the 4' by 6' Perfect Illusion promo Poster? Will pay you for it.
