To my knowledge, "Woman with Head" is a performance installation, so I guess I can't really speak to that one without seeing it, but Orlan isn't the first artist to work with a head separated from the body The BTW head sequence is much more reminiscent of a factory line or storage facility (mass production either way), which at least appears to be quite different from what Orlan was doing with her installation, in intention and execution.
