The only thing that keeps me from having a meltdown is that the GP doesn't know the difference between the #1 song and the #2 song. You can ask a bunch of people and some might say Blurred Lines and others Get Lucky. The GP doesn't really know anything. A hit is a hit in their eyes.

This. But still, for a chart freak like most of us it's disappointing.

I hate how we were so sure before we even knew anything about August. We were like "I just can't wait for that 4th #1". :noparty:
I'll still try though. I'll buy it, and post the iTunes link on FB and Twitter

It's just so unrealistic at this point, unless something miraculous happens to Blurred Lines in the next 2.5 weeks where it suddenly begins plunging.

2.5 weeks is nothing though in the music world.

I hope some scandal happens and interscope has to pull BL from radio or something :rip::lmao:

at this point, that's the kind of miracle we need :rip:

**** Blurred Lines. I'm so sick of it. What type of s-xist ****?

Your only saying it's s-xist because it's a heteros-xual man. Nobody is up in arms about Rihanna's "Rude Boy", Katy Perry's "Peacock", basically any Ke$ha hit, or many Beyonce songs coined as "female empowerment."

A huge double standard exists in popular culture today.  Robin isn't s-xist one bit.  All he did was create a song about flirting and having s-x, yet he is singled out by feminists.  The reality is that the masses don't think that this is s-xist at all.

I don't even care about the "let's keep it to #1 in its 3rd week with the music video"
If she wants to survive, the music video has to debut the same day. That's the only guarantee to #1.
The music vid should be done by Applause's release because it will have been over a month since shooting the vid.

I think that if Gaga releases the video for the single the week after the VMAS she has a chance to go #1.

Btw I'm very excited for Katy's Prism :excited:

Are people already freaking out about this? I'm not worried at all, let's just go along for the ride and not worry about every possibility that could possibly happen to ruin what you feel like is a perfect comeback. That kind of worrying is unnecessary stress for an established artist.

Interscope won't sacrifice BL as it would result in lost $$$. If anything they will just push the song super hard that week and hopefully time everything well.

But wouldn't you rather have the video come out a little later to sustain sales rather than have everything front loaded? That's my only worry if she releases everything at the same time. If she wants streaming points upon release, she could release an audio video and/or a lyric video on YouTube, plus release it to music streaming services such as Spotify.

Are you really worrying that Applause won't go #1 on the Hot 100?

It will be Gaga's 4th #1 and I'm absolutely sure about it, the hype is massive and it's Lady ****ing Gaga.

That's the exact attitude that leads to disappointment. Most people on this forum are like "Nah Gaga slays the world. she can't be blocked". Yet, when she gets blocked everyone will be calling Robin and cheater and what not.

I'm not saying she'll get blocked, but the odds are in Robin's favor not hers.

I really have this huge feeling that Applause will be ultra huge :emo: (not talking about chart peak)  I posted this lyrics 2 times in this thread but **** It  I'll post them again:
"I live for the applause, I live for the way you cheer and scream for me.
Give me that thing that I love, put your hands up make them touch"   I love how Applause (as a title) doesn't sound appealing at all but at the same time look at this ****ing lyrics :X Sounds so catchy :X I really believe that the GP will love the song :X They stick with this lead single since last summer like WTF :X Since then Gaga made so many songs, Interscope had so many time to listen to this songs and a--lize which song is for the radio, which song is controversial in a good way, which song will be a hit, which song will push albums and etc :X  +  DJWS production :X Just imagine catchy DJWS production   they with Gaga made some of her greatest songs like BM, EC and GH :X Imagine similar slayage but  catchy and radio material :X

I really don't care If the song peak at number 2 I prefer BR slayge instead of Born This Way :}
