Same! My number 1 RE game. Resident Evil 2 is great too but it's so overrated within the fanbase. it was good but it wasn't THAT good compared to RE3. The old school fans who were like 20 when RE2 came out can be very bitter when it comes to RE games. i

That's probably why you wouldn't get the hype around RE2. RE2 was my first RE game when it came out when I was 13. It was so incredibly scary and brought the genre to another level. Anyone in a more modern era going back I wouldn't expect to think it's really that great. RE3 had a lot of the same formula, but just improved upon it. If RE2 never existed and we went straight to RE3, it would probably be the one everyone loved.

RE3 was the first RE game i have been introduced to in the series. Then a few years later i played RE2 a little on N64(It wasn't mines) I loved it! i really loved the cutscenes and the first licker appearance along with the suspense of when you first enter the Police station. Then REOutbreak came out and i just HAD to get it. Then i later owned RE4 and i was like bummer no zombies. I'm more of a mix between the Old school and Modern RE fan club.

I may have missed out on the impact of the first release of the trilogy but after buying all three 2 years ago, i was blown away with the nostalgia and how scary they were  so i have a good sense on what the series is supposed to be like now witnessing the downfall of fright in the newer games. loving the Revelation titles though. Sorry for calling old school fans bitter but i just feel that they can be a little harsh on the new school fans since the only thing they really know is 4-6. I think if Remake and 0 were on ps2, things would be a tiny bit different with the series and the direction it's been going in

Very nice! I love seeing a fellow hardcore RE fan :flutter: Resident Evil is definitely one of my favorite series. It was my #2, but has dropped a bit with the newer releases. I wouldn't call myself bitter, but just more disappointed with the direction since #4. I have liked all of them, though. I feel like I'm one of the few that really loved #5.

I understand that the younger generation prefers action and that's where the money is. They are a business and are going to make games that people buy. I am totally okay with action in the RE games, but would just like them to be more... Scary and/or atmospheric. The RE Remake has that awesome and dark atmosphere that I love.

I haven't been too comfortable with the direction either but mainly just play the RE4-6 because they're fun or they have my favorite characters, but deep down i've always been disappointed with them. I would really like to talk with the fans that mainly love the modern trilogy and see what they think of the first trilogy.

They probably think they're slow, cumbersome, and boring lol. It's just a different culture nowadays. Everything is fast paced with so much available at anyone's fingertips with all this social media and Internet craze. People nowadays lose interest if the game can't keep their attention for more than a few minutes. Action games do that.

I'll use the Final Fantasy 7 remake as an example. It's being completely remade, but they're making the game an action RPG now. That really bothers me, but that's what sells... Younger players are used to that sort of gameplay. I bet the RE2 remake will be really similar and be more action based than the original simply because it will sell.

I don't think they'll do that to RE2 Remake but it's too early to judge. i can't wait to see some gameplay. I just RE7 is good

That would be awesome, but I would be able to handle it being more action based. The fact we're getting anything at all is awesome :nick:
