Patrick 0 Posted May 17, 2013 Share Posted May 17, 2013 So I completely forgot what a LOW BUDGET, TERRIBLE QUALITY photographer Nick Knight was and about his equally as horrible team of retouchers until I began editing this photo. I understand the headshot is blown up from the original photo but the quality was just gross. That aside, here's my recolor for the BTW cover. I did some light retouching to compensate for the lack of data in her skin.. and parts of it literally just have no iformation so it almost looks like it was blurred, which is wasn't. Whaaatever. Samuel 3 Posted May 17, 2013 Share Posted May 17, 2013 Wow. Bang up job OP, it looks great, and whilst I like Nick Knights work usually (their Vanity Fair spread in 2010 was gorgeous) yep. The whole shoot was a bit of a disaster, bad retouching and terrible quality... it was probably shot and edited within weeks of the album coming out. Yet the cover is iconic as ****, so who cares about all that. Iconic? I think she was trying to get people to buy the Special Edition by making the Standard look bad. But I like it. It's an unpopular opinion though.
