I love the entire album, but my only problem is that I think it might be impossible for her to create a better song than Team or Tennis Court.

I can't believe that this forum is reacting to Lorde this way for three reasons:

1) The title is just media sensationalism.  Lorde's actual comment isn't b---hy or pretentious at all.  She says that she doesn't like Taylor Swift because her beauty and lifestyle is completely unrealistic and unobtainable.  Lorde then goes on to say that this will never be her because she's not that good looking anyways.

But of course, Gagadaily users read the headline and glance at a few words and spend 13 pages talking about how much of a b---h Lorde is.

2) The majority of the people here have said worse things about Taylor Swift.  If I remember correctly, there was a popular thread a few months ago debating Taylor Swift.  Everyone there basically said the same thing that Lorde just said.  It's all okay to talk about how boring, basic, and a bad role model Taylor Swift is until Lorde says it.  If she says it, she's pretentious.

3) Isn't this basically what Gaga did back in The Fame?  She was some 20 year old nobody one-hit-wonder fresh off the streets and began criticizing the entire pop music industry.

Spill it!

You guys really need to read the quotes rather than jumping in and attacking her. And since when was it bad to be a 17-year-old feminist? I know several people that young that are feminists.

hmmm first it was lana then it was katy... two days ago selena and now taylor swift lol 4 shades in her 50 days of fame... this will ALL BACKFIRE

50 Shades of Lorde. Instead of S&M, she critiques famous pop stars from a feminist perspective. :troll:

I want to respond even more about the feminist "issues" but it'd probably end up more like a dissertation than a post and nobody's gonna read a huge post like that on a pop music forum so I'll just stick with puns. Plus it means I can keep making stupid puns instead of hating Lorde

This girl has been on the scene for all of two seconds and already I'm sick of her. Why aren't more artists taking the time to research the industry before getting into it? Because if they did, they'd know that celebrities who start off their careers by slamming others rarely last. This means your peers won't want to work with you because they'd be afraid what would be said about them if they ever had a fall out and industry bigwigs won't want to sign/book/cast you whatever because you're a loose cannon who's probably a nightmare to work with. Not to mention with every celebrity you diss, you're losing many would-be fans who also stan for the person you belittled. Alienting other fanbases is never a good idea. Azealia Banks is a prime example of that - most of her fanbase are Gaga fans first and foremost, so after she destroyed Gaga on Twitter, she's lost so many fans (and what's worse is that she doesn't seem to be aware of this situation). Lorde's critisms may well be valid but at the start of her career, an artist needs to keep a dignified silence when it comes to their true feelings if they want to get anywhere. No one likes that person who comes out of nowhere with a runaway hit and suddenly acts like they define music. Anyone who calls themselves Lorde obviously has a high opinion of themselves to begin with. I listened to her album today and while it was ok, it's nothing to get excited about and she's got a long way to go before she has room to talk smack about other artists. I don't know why anyone would want to start their career with so much negativity especially when it's directed at people who are much more successful than them. It's like having a big, flashing sign over your head saying: "I'm jealous." It's not surprising that the most successful stars of the minute usually get hated on by people who have never got to their level.

Something she said to her manager during the Metro Magazine interview:

"He pulls Ella aside to inform her that EDM star David Guetta wants her on his next album. 'No,' she says sharply. '**** no.'"

:lmao:
