No. A burqa is a religious garment. Also, a lot of people argue that niqabs and hijabs are garments that are cultural and not religious, however, I have many friends who decide to wear them because of their faith. Culture and religion can be interchangeable at times.

 

I'm not referring to you Bambino but one of the things I'm most afraid of is ignorance and know-it-all attitude that the fanbase might demonstrate by trying to defend Gaga if Burqa it is released as a single. Now I'm not saying that she is trying to be offensive - she might be able to pull it off - but its very hard not to make a cultural appropriation in pop music and to do so to a religion as misunderstood as Islam is really careless.

 

I hope she doesn't try to make any stupid metaphors or wild associations with this one.

 

Hijab is the only garment that religion asked women to wear to cover their heads. Burqas and niqabs aren't a must. Women chose to cover their faces and eyes by themselves, so I think of it as something cultural and not religious. I don't know what other people's concept of a burqa but actually this is the burqa:

I don't know how this is gonna offend religious people especially that it's not a religious garment or a must-required by religion... unless Gaga's burqa is different.

Whats the point of talking about this, anyways?  Things happen when they will happen, just wait for Gaga to announce something.  Nothing anyone says in this thread will affect anything.

 

Everyone needs to chill out and do other things with their lvies until then.  It would probably benefit you all to delete your accounts until Gaga makes a real announcement.

That letter, for literally the 5000th time, was WRITTEN on that same date in 2012 and she was just drunk and miswrote.

:clap:  the idea of her going along with burqa as a song title is kind of making me worried, but i guess i'll just have to see what she cooks up 

 

 

but burqa aside, this has made me a bit more hyped again. it's nice hearing that we're getting something sooner ( ) rather than later, even if it didn't come from gaga herself.

Batoola? I've never heard of that. That thing in the picture is known in Arab countries as Burqa.
