Yeah, the only repeatable trend across westernised elections since COVID (and realistically for the last decade) has been an anti-incumbency voter demographic. Things are **** and stagnant. Government's that aren't seen to be doing enough or making it worse are doomed at the next election almost every time atm. Vancouver is even worse than Toronto. My company wants to open up a new branch there and nobody wants to go. Id consider it if it was Calgary but Vancouver? Hell no, idc how beautiful it is Ive also heard people are more cold and distant in the west coast than in the rest of Canada but i dunno if thats true or not as ive never been there

BC was completely unaffordable with the housing prices and Vancouver has a huge homeless and drug problem BC and Ontario especially need to take a hard look why housing isnt getting built enough and what can be done to improve it BC in particular i feel like enacted rent controls, and slapped a foreign buyers tax and then basically called it a day. Bandaid solutions like that do nothing long term

Ayesha Erotica 2,007
But we must understand why Vancouver is so expensive: Vancouver metro area is geographically very limited: To the West is Pacific Ocean, to the North and East are Mountains, To the South are already the US. You basically cannot expand. Vancouver is also the closest Canadian major city to China and receives mega Chinese privat investments and many rich Chinese buy Vancouver real estate, driving up prices. It is similair geographically to Swiss Basel which is also very expensive and limited in area. The prices will only be getting more expensive in future. No party will change that, it is allowed by constitution. If you live there, move somewhere else as long as your are young, don't expect the prices to ever significantly decline. It's not gonna happen. @Economy tbh Canada always was a bit similair to Trump in recent decades, it just hid it and portrayed itself as friendly but alway had a protectionist economy to all the gays who say I’m History…I’M PROPHECY. On paper and on the map it looks legitimate but in practice if you live here you see many suburbs still have empty plots of land left where building can happen and theres also densification project options too, including under utilized areas that can be rezoned for multiplexes or condos I know vancouver is surrounded by not the most ideal geography but is it truly totally out of space or is it a convinient narrative? Genuinely asking cuz I dont know. I know here in Toronto area its a half truth at best Edited October 25 by Economy

I know here in Toronto area its a half truth at best 8km north of downtown Vancouver, 30m-40m above sea level: Mountains start at 400m-500m. 13km north from DT V is a mountain peak of over 1100m. 12km east of dt V: Pacific Ocean starts 32km south of dt V: US border. Technically, it is only one town Point Roberts, surrounded by ocean, too. there is a narrow stretch of land of about 85km in southwest direction from VC that has habitable land area. Here basically most of BCs population lives. There is an empty land area beetween Abbotsford and Cultus Lake, 75km away from dt V 35km east of dt V is also an empty area north of Silver valley but it seems to be at risk at floods because there is a river directly between mountains Can't think of another major Canadian city that is morel imited than V Toronto is just an excuse , there is still noticeable uninhabited land between the Green belt and the periphery, though not around Milton and Oakville and some other places but around Brampton there is. It is also different to have an unchangeable state border, an ocean, high mountains than a green belt to all the gays who say I’m History…I’M PROPHECY.

They arrived in Q and simply moved to Vancouver to legally buy real estate there. A win-win situation for Q as it received money and the people bought real estate elsewhere, not causing problems in Q but simply outsourcing it to oppressive Anglo-Canada. Ayesha Erotica 2,007
@Economy thank you for the 2000th paw. A milestone. Did you know that, although Canada is the world's second-largest country by area, that China is the worlds second-largest country counting land area only and that Canada only comes fourth after the US? When counting land and inland water, Canada is larger than US & China; while US is also larger than China, by land area only China is the 2nd largest and US 3rd and Canada 4th. I am surprised how the ranking changes by land area only. to all the gays who say I’m History…I’M PROPHECY.

Its partly what is impressing me about Andy Burnham in the UK. But yeah the combo of **** economic conditions + 24/7 news cycles has really ****ed over politics. Because we need long term planning but politicians and the median voter want instantaneous wins. The gays know how to party
