Any creative field that becomes a big business cannibalises itself. And I believe that it's because art by definition is something created out of passion, as a gift to others, to be shared and experienced. For example if the Mona Lisa wasn’t by Da Vinci and worth millions—would anyone really care about it?

That's why they've started more heavily monetizing it now. Xbox margins started being a focus once they realized Phil Spencer wasn't going to get them back major market share. Everyone is in their walled garden. Xbox X/S sold 35 million so far while the One sold 55 million and the 360 sold 85 million. Asha built goodwill to stop the playerbase bleed and the financial headache. Not to become a market leader again.

I used to always prefer Xbox back in the day when the 360 was out. Had hoped PlayStation would die after GTA6.

Bill Gates not in Microsoft anymore, never part of XBox team, aside from approving the project, and currently only get money from Microsoft because of his stocks there? I don't want to actually meet with Bill Gates and ask him if he's smoking crack. I'm making a joke. CHOMP.
