J.K. Rowling Explains Her Stance On Trans Issues

The worst part of all this is that transphobia is becoming normalized and much more widespread than homophobia nowadays. This narrow-minded, heteronormative mindset is genuinely a danger to humanity. They can't think beyond what society has conditioned them to believe. They're truly unevolved people.

I don't know how trans people do it, but they're so strong and I really admire them.

Probably a controversial opinion but Trans Women in the UK currently have less legal rights than cis women do. They’re being discriminated against from ALL sides both from straight people and the queer community.

They’re being discriminated against in adverts through social media, talks in the commons against them, laws changed about them, celebrities and politicians refusing to even call them by the correct pronouns and doing it passive aggressively and maliciously without a hint of respect.

Not to mention the they make up an average of 1% of the world’s population, not even a percent of the actual UK population. And they only exclusively target trans WOMEN not men, because misogyny is still a thing.

I have many trans friends, my best friend of almost 20 years is trans, and I’ve seen people be vile towards in PUBLIC because of people like Rowling she’s had the phrase “tranny” or “nonce” shouted at her so many times when we’re literally just doing shopping. These people want all trans people eradicated from public life, and then they’ll come for the gays. Rowling has already made comments about gay men over the years and since she made her stance on trans rights.

People in the UK are simply just cis straight white people before anything else. And it adds fuel to my own personal fire every day about why I do not and will never like straight people.

"let me explain why I hate trans people" is always wrong and no matter how many pages of an essay u gonna write, the conclusion is the same: you're a bad person and you're wrong.

So basically, she believes that the only people who can legitimately identify as women are those who went through a girl's childhood. Because no amount of identifying, hormonal therapy, or complete transitioning is enough for her.

To Rowling, trans women saying they are women is stolen valor. She doesn't actually care about the reality of gender on an individual or societal level, she just cares that trans people didn't have to go through the trauma that she did. Just utter Boomer logic.

She doesn't state it here, but her views on trans men are just as regressive and disgusting, she views them as lost girls or even traitors to women because they "choose to run away from being women".

She essentially only cares about what people were raised as, then she applies misandric feminism (which is paradoxically man-hating and upholds patriarchal concepts), and that is the be-and-end-all to her views

u know, it kind of reminds of of the rise of Hitler's hate towards Jews.. he reflected his own failures, insecurities as a person, his race, towards a minority that did no harm to him.

It's the same case here, she's clearly, despite all the money and fame, has a lot of insecurities as a woman and a lot of failures as a woman, mostly in relationships and how she's always feels 'less' in the men's world, even though she's in a stronger position than many many men, even rich men.

So instead of fighting against cis gender men, she found a weaker minority, 1% that nobody apart from the LGBTQ+ community (and it's not all the community yes?) cares about, to lash out all her anger and hate to.

J.K. Rowling also claims trans rights activism is “elitist to its core”.

Here's a photo of a helicopter landed on Joanne's 227 foot support yacht that follows around her 290 foot main yacht.

Horny Chicken

I don’t think people actually boycott Harry Potter. At the peak of the controversy a few years ago, I genuinely believed that the Hogwarts Legacy game would flop but it became the best selling game of 2023 in the US. There was so much chaos- streamers were criticized, harassed and even doxxed. I found it all quite entertaining at the time. Sorry. :icant:

Anyway, that whole thing opened my eyes to how the rest of the world really feels. I spend a lot of time on left leaning forums but I no longer believe they necessarily reflect the public’s opinions (like I once did).. I think it’s important to see reality for what it is so I went digging for more information.

I discovered that the HP IP actually draws a lot of tourists and that number is growing every year? People plan their entire vacation around it. Additionally, Warner Bros studios London and Abu Dhabi are undergoing construction and expansion related to HP. So on that side of things, it appears to be highly profitable.

Now what will really confirm my suspicions is how the new show fares. Will the numbers keep up or.. has the brand image been irreparably damaged?

Probably a gross estimate but I think this is where we’re at right now:

The pink represents true boycotters as the majority of Anti-Rowling/ Pro-trans activists were never consumers in the first place.

(anti-Rowling but still consuming HP content belongs in the big oval)

It really is interesting to watch. What I’m more curious to know is how much JK Rowling has actually donated to paying for women’s legal fees (like she claims).

Personally, I don’t think trans people should have become a political topic in the first place.. they were more at peace 10 years ago. What on earth happened?

Hogwarts Legacy is slightly different because the devs weren't associated with Rowling and made it very clear that trans people are welcome to enjoy their game, even going so far as to make a main character trans

A more accurate comparison would be to look at the Fantastic Beasts movies which flopped harder and harder until ultimately being cancelled altogether

We'll see how the new HBO series does but either way her name is dirt and no one ****s with this woman

May we know your opinion regarding Rowlings' statements? Since you asked us first, some here might be curious if you'd be willing to share your own view on the matter. Thanks a million

This is a really common thing. Like how female comedians advocate for women-only comedy locations, a famous one (Zarna Garg)  said she wants to see no male comedian in the building because it ruins the vibes.

This is not the same.

Also, common doesn’t mean it’s right.

I had a feeling being a Swift fan was not the only thing wrong with them :ohwell:

But, honestly, I really hoped they'd tell us they're against Rowlings sentiments. As much as I love making fun of Swift and Swifties, that's just light hearted banter for entertainment. But if they are really supporting a Transphobe like the JK Molding, that would be straight up disgusting. In my not so humble opinion, scumbags like that do not belong here.

British woman has issues with her identitity and growing up experiences and chooses to make it everybody's problem instead of going to therapy, basically.
