I am REALLY sorry for you!! But you will need to adapt. Offer something that is unique and needs a human view. Its in your best interest because AI isn't going anywhere.

GenAI prevents us adapting.

Unless that adaptation is something impossible for GenAI to provide. Which given the advancements in 3D printing and robotics, very little is safe from AI development.

People like you seem incapable of understanding that the end goal is removing the human view.

Thats a bit harsh, dont you think?

I understand all of that, thats not a good thing. But it just will be the new reality of the world and imo its better to adapt than get thrown under the bus.

Fighting back is important but you will not change the trajectory of AI completely. Its already getting used EVERYWHERE and its only here for a few years.

The world will be a different one in 5 years. I'd rather be ready for that than close my eyes and get just upset about it.

Certain types of AI are 100% here to stay, advancing technologies in pretty much every industry.
How prevalent it will be in the arts (music videos included) depends ENTIRELY on how we as an audience receive it today.
If we just sit back and think "that sucks but oh well" that just reads as "oh audiences don't care lets use AI for everything"

Very true! I'm not denying that AI raises legitimate concerns about artists' rights, consent, working conditions, and job displacement. Those deserve to be taken seriously. But exploitation existed long before AI, from underpaid garment workers to the people mining the materials in our phones, and most people barely think about it when they consume those products. AI is an easier target because it's new and controversial. This technology isn't going away, so I'd rather see people fight for ethical AI, fair compensation, and regulations that protect workers than pretend we can stop progress by demonizing it

Did you actually get AI to write an argument for itself :icant:

The eradication of human imagination … I was just thinking about this (not in context of GenAI, but more generally just “imagination” and human identity I guess) … media technology seems to innovate the means to replace human imagination, or maybe just modern consumer tech (smartphones, Creative Suite, etc.) … in the 90s it was the influence of cable TV “thinking” or imagining for kids, and now, the iPad generation is just that to an extreme degree … but, I digress, just riffing

I suppose the end game is when you “imagine” for the masses as early as possible you effectually dictate their capacity to imagine on their own … or, basically, you tell them what the alternatives are to their status quo and/or any unjust society

But/and, just musing observations into the airwaves

ETA: TL;DR … How can you read this?? There’s no pictures!

In a few years, Billboard and the Grammys might adapt to this your AI reality, and your favorite artists will start losing out to AI artists and songs. Will you be okay with that too? Will you tell them to adapt and accept it?

Okay but the actual graphic designer with the mustache is a cutie! Gaga pretty much created “Digital Joy” when taking a picture of the Judas cover art “for texture.”

It sucks they couldn’t have just commissioned even an amateur artist to do the animation. The animation wasn’t super smooth so it wouldn’t have required THAT much drawing.

You guys are absolutely gross. GenAI is literally taking away CAREERS from people that are still studying and art is their only passion, whether it’s music, illustration, writing, etc. and yall are just saying “haha lol whatever let the billionaire-owned company steal from the working class unless it’s my working field”. Scumbags.

I am in the design field myself. So maybe dont assume you know people

then you should be ashamed

where did you learn design? because any basically trained designer just cannot agree with gen AI and the slop thats being used as marketing

mother, what must i do?

The Mayhem art was outsourced so I lowkey gave her a pass for it (half a pass). Was the candle countdown confirmed to be AI?

Idk, I'd like to think Gaga has a little too much artistic integrity to directly use genAI to make """art""" but I thought the same about slapping random singles onto albums for streaming boosts so

Yeah I don't think she herself was aware since they hired that creative studio to make those things, I think it was the same team for both they mayhem art and the candle. Still leaning towards the Dead Dance video using it too despite what the supervisor said, again she wouldn't know that unless she was fully involved in post (the same for Olivia). I've worked on many music videos over the years and I can only remember one artist who had any involvement in post and watching multiple approval previews

Depends on if you see it as a devilish replacement or a new tool just like a paintbrush or photoshop. And I learned it in University

Paintbrush and photoshop weren't capable of replacement though.

GenAI is.

I can go onto a generative AI tool right now and generate a flyer to promote a business/event etc if I wanted to without any design training.

Why would I need a graphic designer to do it for me at cost when a free alternative exists?

it's been explained to you many times that gen AI is not comparable to photoshop

photoshop cannot make art for you, you need to learn to use it like a paintbrush

you need to be trained to use all kinds of design software to create decent design the same way designers before us needed to use a letterpress printer and a pencil. digital software didn't replace, it enhanced, as @Bronco just described

gen AI steals from existing artwork to make an image for you, it completely cuts out the need for a trained designer if you're someone who's happy with an image with no composition, method, style or detail

these are 2 very different things and you really need to stop comparing them both, especially if you're trained designer

Yikes first Olivia using AI, then people agreeing with the use of AI in art? What has the world come to?

AI is good for things like drug discovery, things that advance science, that would take centuries to be done by people.

AI taking away creativity, one of the things that make us human. It's horrific.
