Gen AI in a music video like this is so gross because they HAVE the budget to pay real artists - who would have worked their ass off for something incredible & would get to build their portfolio. 

I do think this is something people should come to the director over though, (I don't know) if she has ever claimed to sit in on the pre- post production process, but I would generally assume you trust the director and his team for this stuff

The Mayhem art was outsourced so I lowkey gave her a pass for it (half a pass). Was the candle countdown confirmed to be AI? 

Idk, I'd like to think Gaga has a little too much artistic integrity to directly use genAI to make """art""" but I thought the same about slapping random singles onto albums for streaming boosts so

Just wanna bring up the fact that use of it is the primary cause of data centers popping up everywhere which are literally poisoning the water supply and adding unbearable noise pollution in populated areas. Disproportionately  poor Black and other minority communities especially.

I understand all of that, thats not a good thing. But it just will be the new reality of the world and imo its better to adapt than get thrown under the bus.

Fighting back is important but you will not change the trajectory of AI completely. Its already getting used EVERYWHERE and its only here for a few years. 

The world will be a different one in 5 years. I'd rather be ready for that than close my eyes and get just upset about it.

Not trying to defend Olivia or anything but the MV is super fun and something we all would GAGGG over if it was released in the 2010s and the fact we’re analyzing every bit of it so we can critique it instead of enjoying it is kinda off putting to me

I would just remember that for a lot of artists, even the big ones, I'm sure a lot of this comes from the labels and the heads of the creative teams. Apparently there's a lot of budget cutting in the music industry right now. Not justifying it, just saying lets not pin the blame 100% on Olivia. And I'm saying that as someone who isn't even a fan

You're right though. This is facts, not opinion. And I guarantee you anybody who defends genAI would be up in arms protesting if it was threatening their line of work. But a lot of people out there don't care if it affects others, until it affects them personally

See that’s what makes me so mad! 
There’s a supermarket right in front of my art school and they were using a pixelated AI cartoony “illustration” with characters that had weird proportions and the background was realistic as hell for no reason. LIKE THE ****???? 

People are so selfish it’s genuinely irritating. I am a bit selfish too BUT NO ONE SHOULD BE GETTING REPLACED LIKE THIS. NO ****ING INDUSTRY, NOBODY.

Your first post was telling people to just "get used to it". If fighting back is important like you say it is, then what're you doing to fight back and how is telling people to get complacent to it helpful? The perpetual loser attitude about it certainly isn't doing anything positive for the world.
