PartySick 175,577
Why do we actually care about this? If Gaga feels like this statement is a problem she'll either address it or put her PR team to work. Most likely she'll ignore it 'cause it's nothing "Ooh Lady Gaga was rude to me" ok and? I was just rude to an old lady not fifteen minutes ago, none of us are special. Whimsical bitch 5 1

But I do think it’s rude especially when the people being brought on are all people who were very much inspired by you and were excited to get your thoughts on their work *for you*. And I get it going through hardship but then it’s like…what about now? Idk I feel like she can do as she pleases, but I think she isolates herself too much from the rest of the industry and at-times it can definitely be hurtful to others. Like ns but why are you reaching out to work with bland artists like Bruno mars when you have a whole litany of incredible and fresher and more exciting acts inspired by you who would leap at the chance?? Idk I just think there’s more she could do both for them but also for her own artistry than just slapping a popular song over a haus labs promo lol Charli posted herself singing Judas a week or two ago on her Instagram so clearly there are no hard feelings there, and again why are you assuming the worst about Gaga? Would you think that Gaga offered to be Billie's mentor when she got signed by Interscope based on their public interactions especially before this year’s Grammys? We would never know if Billie didn’t tell us. You don't know who Gaga is close to behind the scenes. She didn't even tell the public she had a baby, we know atp how private she is and you are judging this woman's character based on little pieces of information that we get on social media and weaponize her psychosis against her. Maybe all these young artists say nice thing about Gaga because they actually had positive interactions with her behind the scenes and we are just not privy to that? Eh I don’t think you can have your cake and eat it, too, personally. I’m not saying it’s an unforgivable sin, just kinda dismissive. but my second point is like…she doesn’t gel with *any* newer artists or producers? Find that hard to believe. I think the effort to find them isn’t really there tbh

Ease off the gas there lol saying something is a little rude isn’t like I’m trying to nuke her or “assuming the worst”. It’s not weaponizing anything, I’m just saying as a full adult person you are capable of being a little rude and dismissive sometimes even when you’re unwell. And it’s not a stretch to say, “hey maybe try to move better.” If anything, I think it’s more dignified to treat her like an actual person capable of fault than a goddess baby who could do no wrong bc she struggles w her mental health. Shes a near 40 yr old woman. I think it’s fine to say she didn’t handle a thing super well, ID why, but still acknowledge potential hurt caused. also she 100% told the public she had a baby via those photos. The paps did not just find her in Marin county lol as private as she is, she also used her psychosis and mental health as promotional talking points for Chromatica so, yes, it’s something that can be discussed, difficulties and all, because *she* brought them to the conversation. Hell, even on the album she acknowledges on 9-11 how her mental health has cost her relationships. In no way does saying, “she could have handled that differently” equate to weaponizing her health against her.

I think the effort to find them isn’t really there tbh I never see any of this commentary for The Remix and BTW Remix album, I doubt gaga was barely involved in those too... her name is on it because they're remixing HER songs, she absolutely can have the cake and eat it since that's how remixes work gaga knows her artistry better than you or i ever can do. she's always working with new people which is good so she does actually reach out more often than you realise. she was even working with Sophie at one point however, if the music doesn't fit into gaga's vision then unfortunately, it doesn't make the cut. you can't say gaga doesn't make the effort to reach out when her musical collaborations are constantly changing... if she was still working with redone and djws then it would be the problem you're describing she's also locked down by a pop star contract and so are the other acts out there which can definitely destroy opportunities. mother, what must i do? 3
bxr 3,464
@nATAH Honest question, because I’m not as versed in the behind the scenes / studio production / collaboration logistics as you are … but/and/so does Gaga collaborate in person with emerging acts on these projects? Just from what I’ve seen from the sidelines, it seems like she’s in the studio with the inside-the-industry guys (BloodPop, Ronson, Watt, Cirkut, etc.), but the remixes or projects with up-and-comers or non-inside guy acts appear to be by proxy or not in-person collaborations … But I’m just going off of optics … it just seems like she’s pretty isolated / locked-in as far as studio production process on her more recent projects … but maybe it’s just the Chromatica (stressed on the deck with BloodPop pushing her to get in the studio and wrap up the recording), and Mayhem (recording in a retrofitted Malibu office, “so far away” from the “community” who birthed that sound) retrospectives that surface to mind in the immediate But, neither here nor there, just curious I guess

In no way does saying, “she could have handled that differently” equate to weaponizing her health against her. It is weaponizing because a person doesn't have to have mental health issues to be rude to someone. If someone's rude to you do you automatically assume they are mentally unwell? If someone says Gaga was being rude to Stephanie Mills because at that time she was on drugs or she was rude to Charli because that year she had a mental breakdown is it not using the information she shared about her hardships and mental health issues against her? If you think she was rude that's fine just say she was rude, like you said she is not a goddess so her character flaws are just what they are, she has character flaws like any other human. And by assuming the worst I was referring to your comment about her isolating herself from the industry, because how do you know that? She has collaborations on every album besides BTW and very random ones from Twista to Blackpink so you can't say she has not been reaching out to people to get them on her records. How do we really know that she gets asked to be on someone else's work? So yeah saying she is isolating herself is assuming the worst about her, it implies that she is standoffish and hard to approach. Maybe all the people she inspired don't actually want to work with her and don't have a material where she'd fit in. There could be many explanations but you decided to go with Gaga being the reason why certain collaborations or interactions are not happening. She said that she'd been trying to work with Gesaffelstein since the beginning of her career but that didn't happen till Mayhem, she worked with Boys Noize and Sophie on Chromatica but ended up not using their material. As you said you really can't force a collaboration and often times what you think could work on paper doesn't in reality May chaos take the world!
