I’m currently rewatching the season and I actually like the cop plot more than the plot with Gaga in tbh They could’ve been two separate shows or seasons tbh I get that The Countess kidnapped their child and that spiralled the killings, and her being the final commandment (thou shalt not kill) to collect. The looks are so MAYHEM coded To be fair sonically mayhem absolutely fits everything we saw pre-Joanne. The dark visuals, her being inspired by the 70s and disco music, working with Gorgio Moroder and Nile Rodgers… sonically Mayhem is basically an evolved version of this. Plus she said at the Mayhem Fan Conference she specifically considered going back and reworking Frankenstein which was also from this era roughly. In order for the audience to care about who the 10 commandment killer is, they have to at least suggest one possible suspect and they did not edge us at all. Everyone else is a ghost who could not leave the hotel and we already knew about the countess's motives for killing. So to put it respectfully, Ryan Murphy told us doodoo comes out of one hole in the body and had a whole episode revealing it was the the one on the booty all along.
