I understand why a lot of us don’t particularly *love* this album, but the instrumentals all ****ing slap so hard. Chromatica is not edgy or rough like MAYHEM or Born This Way, for example - Chromatica is is much more polished. It's also not as confrontational as ARTPOP. Its beauty lies in the electronic harmony that invites you to recover from your wounds or imagine the Chromatica world, it has it's own drama but it's carefully built up. Because the lyrics let you feel the pain, the music covers the trauma softly. Good records don't always have to be rough or confrontational - i don't think these are Madonna's Confessions Of A Dancefloor and Ray Of Light either, nevertheless, it was good music and their are classics. Chromatica is dedicated to psychic healing and is spiritual in a way - the album may be quieter in the sense of more harmonious - but i totally like it. Over time, the album will find its rightful place, it has good songs.
